Modding Unique weapons question

I am currently reading the A song of Ice and Fire books, and the talk of the special swords such as Ice and Long Claw has given me an idea for something I would like to see in the game. Since this is something rather specific, complex and yet small at the same time I think it would work better in a mod then as a suggestion to eventually be added to the main game. So my question is that is it possible to mod in a system into mount and blade where unique weapons can appear and be made? Basically is it possible to change stats of specific instances of weapons in game without having pre-made the item with those specific stats?

The entire point of this would be to allow of the discovery of special fairly unique loot (as in the Torchlight game) every so often. These special weapons would probably be only dropped by special characters (lords and such) and would only vary in stats. Also along with it would be nice to have the ability to name weapons, greatly increasing the 'bond' between the player and his/her weapons.

Also this would probably allow a weapon to be taken to a blacksmith and altered slightly (too a limit of course) for preference such as slightly increasing length at the cost of increased weight. This would allow weapons to become a sinkhole of money which in this context is actually a good thing (hint: it continues to increase that james 'bond' thing I was talking about earlier)

Anyway the concept of what to do with it doesn't really matter right now. Simply put: is it possible to change names and stats of specific instances of weapons in game?

This is posted in the wrong board. Post it here http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,64.0.html.

Okay my bad, I was wondering if I was in the right place when I posted. Having said that: could an admin move it, and could people humor me and answer it anyway. I hate to point it out but the people populating the warband discussion and those populating the rest of the forum (including the mod development) are more than likely the same people and can therefor answer the question anyway.

PS: I should probably apologize ahead of time for sounding sarcastic but I've just watched a straight days worth of Zero Punctuation and I'm highly influential.

I think you will find that many people are asking questions in the forge.

To your question. Yes. I do think it is possible, but it would be very hard to code I presume. It would maybe have to use the Warband Script Enhancer (WSE).

 Nope! Don't venture into Off-Topic with that kind of innocent ignorance. They're not very hospitable until you've been baptised by fire down there.

In any case, it's definitely easier to create new instances of items individually than to allow for dynamic modification of them while you play in the way you describe.

Though I would like a way to throw money at a standard weapon and get a balanced/heavy/tempered version of it, or to remove negative modifiers. It would require some scripting to remove the item from your inventory, remove money, and then add a different item, but it wouldn't be terribly complex.

That above idea is not half bad actually. On a related note is it possible to make more than the standard amount of modifiers for a weapon? Because then what I suggest would be possible, only a pain in the ass.

Alright I wasn't thinking of that part. Off-topics never feel like being an actual part of the forum, I can't for the life of me figure out why they exist.
