there is already a code for that in module_script.py

For the syntax error..check the [(,)]..and check the line 40952..if thats the end of the module_quest.py (which i doubt because the native module_quest.py has 415 lines) file then check the last ] and the first [ for example = quests = [ and check if there is a ] between the first [ and the last ]

Ok thanks I'm going to get some OSPs for banners now. Will that solve both errors when starting the game?


The error is in module_dialogs, not module_quests, and (I think) that that line only has ]],

No you need to code the banners in..This could help..

Not in wings..Just create new banner texture with new textures..and add more banner meshes in the banner.brf (or whatever)..And then you code them in..

Just downloaded/extracted Open BRF, what now? (I don't have photoshop which a tutorial I looked at said to use, because I think it costs money :sad:)

EDIT: Still have that first one, but also these new questions:
(Just to preface, I'm using Ruthven's sea travel OSP)
1) How to allow AI parties to travel on water and turn their icon into a ship when they do that,
2) How to make it so the path finding on water works just as well as on land (not running into cliffs, for example)
3) How to make ships disappear a week after landing on dry land. (Only for the player AI ships would not stay on land at all but they would disappear immediately after landing)

There's nothing wrong about the line, but if I comment the line, the error message dissapear. Currently, the only way I can do to fix it is to copy paste the line above it, and then manualy edit the data according to the problemed line, and then delete the problemed line. But it's very annoying to reinput the whole line. Anybody know how to deal with this, please?
 
Remove the leading 0s, they are interpreted as octal numbers, and things like 08 or 09 are not valid octal numbers, so you get "invalid token". Just use spaces for padding.
 
Thanks, it works now. I don't know that python take leading 0s as oktal number  :oops:. I used the 0s in reconstructing the table to maintain the alignment. It's look like that space is safer now. Thank you, MV.

Well the one new feature in newer photoshops that could be good is the ability to texture directly onto a 3D model, but based on what I've seen it's PS6 that really makes it a useful tool to have. I'll probably buy it eventually just for that, because I suck when it comes to making UV Templates, something is always distorted or stretched. xD

Mind you I think I read something awhile ago about being able to do that in gimp, should probably look into it, but I'm so used to 3ds max that I'd likely get confused with a new 3d prog. Hell, when I tried moving from max 9 to max 10 it killed my head just cause of the change in colours and layout changes. Completely threw me off.

1. Well you can't..You can make ford/bridge terrain..And make when you step on the ford your icon turn to ship..and edit the Ruthvens code a bit..Im also intrested in this question..
 
What about "(party_set_flags, "p_main_party", pf_is_ship, 1),"? That should allow you to travel across normal water. See Native's cheat menus "sail_from_port", "disembark" and "ship_reembark".

Well I been trying a lot of time to make it work..And I made the code that worked just fine on the sea..But when I get to plain terrain..I get disembark messages a lot..
 
If the disembark menu keep appearing, then you can modify script "game_on_disembark". Just put other recondition to call mnu_disembark. Exp :
