It just occured to me that it may be relatively simple to put in a fatigue system that requires you to sleep or camp every so often. I'm not a programmer and I don't have any experience with the coding tools but I do have some knowledge of what can and can't be done. But if someone could verify the possibility and perhaps experiment with it and release a standalone mod and perhaps instructions on how to add it to any other mod, that would be fantastic.
So here's how I think it would go: we know that number of days can be counted for things like quests. Every time you sleep in an inn, or camp by yourself (I'll get to that later), a timer is set to count the number of days since it occured. After 12 hours, or 24 or however many you want to set the tolerance for, the timer triggers a conversation to pop up, with your character saying he's tired and should camp, or whatever, and you have an option to say no and keep marching, which would, if this is possible, reduce your speed gradually, the way marching with no food does. Or, you could camp, which would trigger the staying-in-an-inn script and have time pass by (if this is possible). The only problem, I imagine, would be that parties that happen by you as your camping wouldn't attack you, just as they don't while you're sleeping in an inn, and you wouldn't eat any food over this time, as you don't in an inn.
If it is possible to affect attributes or even skills, fatigue could be emulated by reducing str/agi or simply athletics/power strike, etc. etc.
So, what do you think?
