Mod with the strongest communities?

Ok, so not sure if this is a re-thread, but here it goes,

I've been into mount and blade for a while, and I want to start participating in a mod community (clans, events, training, stuff like that). So, I want to know if there are some suggestions for mods that have really strong communities. Im not really taking about lots  amount of players (although the more there are, the better), but actual player involvement. Like, I saw some really amazing videos of big mount and gladius matches, very organized, although I hear that mod is sort of dead now that they merged with Rome at War...

Anyway, you get the point. Im looking for clans and groups and events, with as many players as possible. Running around like a chicken with its head cut off and fighting whatever random steps infront of you doesnt do it for me anymore.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

cRPG has a big and active community.
Napoleonic Wars (The DLC) has a big and active community.
Vikingr has an active community, though certainly not anywhere near either of the above in terms of activity and sheer number of players.

Can't really think of any other mods which have active clans involved at the moment, but there are some more for sure!

MaHuD nailed it, really. There are not many mods that survive long on the MP front. It's a difficult scene to crack for longevity and, whilst many boom for short periods, they almost always inevitably decay.

Vikingr is most certainly capable of mustering large numbers of men for events. Just take a look at the latest event, of which you are free to join and taste, rowenamosgallant. Infact, there's probably no better time to try out Vikingr. Typically, the community is compacted into several clans and freelancers, it's a closed environment where each face and name is most likely recognisable (as per traditions in the sagas dictate!). If you want mega big every day, hit up cRPG and NW.

PWmod also has quite a few players, and the Warband Role Play (server mod) has a community of it's own too.

Yeah, I play napoleonic wars, but I suppose ive never really looked into any clans or regiments. Do you know if they frequently host events?
Id like to try cRPG, but my mac doesn't recognize the installer (in b4 "lol, macs suck" .... it was a gift). Im still looking for someone to post a zip version or something

Also, I saw that post this morning! I'd love to join the event, if you folks would have me!

I cannot comment on Napoleonic Wars, I am afraid, as I do not play it. You would be best served to spend time looking over the community subforum, spending some time in game and seeing what's occuring within that particular module.

As for Vikingr, you are more than welcome. Simply read over the event thread, understand the rules and sign up.

Either cRPG or Napoleonic wars, but I'd say Napoleonic wars if you go by playerbase, if you go by strength of community it's cRPG.

all three of 'm are strong, Shem. Vikingr has Shieldbattles (Or whatever they are called nowadays)
NW Linebattles and cRPG Strategus.
All three are well liked and videolised.

That does not imply that it is the weakest of communities. I would readily vouch for it being the strongest community given the resilience and hardy nature of those still playing. Nor should it be considered weakness on value of player-count; it is most certainly a mod better suited for an agreeable number of players, rather than an excess as experienced by NW and cRPG.

But it's quite difficult to say that considering MM and NW has never dipped into one of those periods.

cRPG has existed for a really long time and doesn't look like it's becoming smaller.

You also have some other mods with semi-big communities such as Nord Invasion and Mercenaries.
