I think the armour is good, but it could be better if the surcoat wasn't completely black. I'm saying there should be some dark grey highlights around the lighter areas, to give it the look of proper fabric.

I agree that some shading would make this even better. Perhaps you could take the original armor, grey it out until it was very dark and remove the original insignia, then copy the white tree on, making it somewhat transperant.
