Please take my words as those of the French Warband community.
We thank you for your effort to deliver Mount & Blade Warband with a French version. However, after several Warband patchs, it is now obvious that this french version will never be updated and actually suffers of several drawbacks :
- incomplete translation, which cause hundreds of sentences to stay in English,
- missing or bugged text entries display ("str_not_found"),
- grammar and spelling mistakes,
- it comprises some uncorrect translations from a french point of view which cause misunderstandings into the story you created.
Those flaws are disturbing so much the pleasure to play your game that some true Warband fans tried to fix them. Since many months, the French community handles a cooperative effort to revise and review every text entries from your original English version. As a result of this effort an alternative French version was released, ingame tested, corrected and finally approved by the community. This version is today complete and 100% compatible with Warband patch 1.132.
Because we really like Mount&Blade and want that every french player enjoy your games, we hereby propose you to include our alternative French version as the official one, in order to replace the actual overwhelmed french version selled with Warband. By reading the French forum posts, we think that almost every Taleworlds French forum user already use our version in place of the one delivered with your product. But we are too aware that newbie players may be reluctant to use it because they are afraid to destroy the game they bought by overwritting original .csv files, and anyway a lot of french users simply do not connect to the Taleworlds forum at all. So to put our complete French version in place of the old one would be of great benefit for everybody, ans first of all your customers.
Up to now, the french translators community followed every Warband (and before Mount&Blade) patch that Taleworlds released by a french patch within few days, so please take into consideration the fact that if you accept to include our french version as the official one, you will gain a reactivity that will enjoy all your french fans. Not to say that if you could give us the english enhancements of future patches before release, you would have the corresponding french translation fast enough to be able to distribute the french version matching the new patch at the same time.
