Enter minotaurs.

Minotaur slave -> Minotaur Savage  -> Minotaur Mercenary
-> Minotaur Gladiator -> Minotaur Champion

Head: the same as the slave but without a slave ring in the nose.

Minotaur Merc:
Body: any of existing armors, preferably plate

Head: with a broken horn and a golden earring

Gladiator and champion need unique heads, and probably unique armors.

Weapons:
Slave - spear/1h axe
Savage - axe and shield
Merc - sword and shield/2h sword
Gladiator - trident and shield/gladius and shield
Champion - 2h axe

my say for a more minotaur feel would be like this.

*primitive might mean improvised, like the feron spear.

slave - smaller axe, a 'hatchet' to the clan. / spear / club with nails / primitive* maul / primitive* axe
savage - larger, cleaver like 2h axe/ maul
merc - 2h warhammer, 2h axe of minotaurous propotions
gladiator - a trident and buckler / spiked mace and buckler
champ - 1 h hammer/maul and round shield / medium scythe-like blade with a round shield

basically the merc line would feature minotaurs ready to do large scale battles with the logic of the strong, attack comes after defence, thus focusing on large two handed weapons, while the champion line features minotaurs that have a lot of experience fighting as an individual, thus fighting with more balance and hence the shield.

I would still say no to swords for minotaurs. Cow headed humanoids wielding a sword doesn't match. Good work on the models. I'll try to produce some weapons for them if i still have any energy left tomorrow.

suggestion for lore : nomadic in nature. Travels in bands to rob and kill. Desperate to find someplace safe since they are being made slaves by asaleth, considered blasphemous by the illoriaon, rivals to ferons in raiding villages  and planelords hate them for their stench.

Nice design on weapons. I am going to make a "face mask" for a gladiator and "face cover" armor (like for warhorses) for a champion.

I think that runaway slaves may rarely appear in taverns of some outsider-tolerant factions, like feron and blighted plague, because I want to have a small minotaur radin' party at my side :). Or maybe make a few neutral villages of them with peasants feeding them and runaway minotaur slaves avaliable for recruitment.

The only question: if they were slaves, to whom? :)

P.S.
slaves by asaleth
Sorry, I didn't read carefully :).

U could have them as a merc force. Or i remembered Old versions of M&B had parties called refugees? Maybe our coders could enlighten us. The hostile bands outside roaming around would be counted as bandit parties.

Appearing at blighted plague seems unlikely. I'm guessing we should have another nomadic stronghold that moves around the map ( I remember a mod that had a moving city/village) A stronghold that might allow neutral quests? and recruiting could be done there or at taverns at feron cities.

I guess?

If you succeed a moving stronghold I wish to create scenery for it (2 versions: moving - everything on wagons and a small camp in the middle, and standing - a large camp and a few temporary main buildings).

P.S. I suddenly remembered a "mobile fortress" from "Robin Hood: men in tights" movie. Lol :D.

Yeh, a moving fortress would be possible. I think the mod we're thinking of is the Rise of the Khergits mod. Not sure if they were actual towns though - I think just parties of villagers.

I'd really have to test it out, but I think its possible.

I'm honestly dreading adding in all these new models. Takes forever :P.

Really? I thought you just put BRF and DDS at their place and re-save BRF so the INI automatically gets it, then you can use it in any item editor :).

Anyway, I think it's not hard to make a party with different dialogue options: when it is in the "moving" state it has a dialogue option which teleports you to a mobile scene, and when it's considered "waiting" it has an option which teleports you to a stationary scene.

Heh, actually, saying it like that, I see what you mean. I guess I'm used to having to make my own, position them, and keep testing them out.

About the town, I guess it comes down to how we want it to be - will it have different movement modes (hard to do, actually) or behave like a neutral party? Not sure at the moment.

I would like to see very savage and wild minotaurs. Perhaps you can give them less advanced weapons - only spears, simple axes, maybe spiked clubs and no shields. Is this possible to make them raiding villages like kingdom lords? Plus, you can have a small story and quest. For example village elder of one of villages, which is near Minotaurs, could give you quest - Kill Minotaur Lord (leader? champion? warlord? master? archchampion?). Player must go to hidden in moutains labyrinth (or cave, dungeon) and kill well-equipped Minotaur Lord. Defeating him will stop raids and murders.

Good work on models!

Agnes :P?

It is possible to make them raid villages - even if we have to give them their own faction...etc. I think its just a matter of changing their personality settings.

I would also like to keep the minotaurs as primitive as possible - while the Feron use 'basic' weapons, the minotaurs should take things to the extreme, using basically Stone Age weaponry.

While minotaurs were slaves, they should be trained to use big weapons like mauls and twohanded axes on gladiator arenas. However they cannot make advanced weaponry themselves. That's why I offered 2 branched troop tree: 1 branch is for runaway slaves which became savage and use crude weapons, I'd prefer to fix the tree (since it's too hard for a savage and fierce beast to become "mercenary"), thus:

minotaur slave -> minotaur runaway slave -> minotaur savage    -> minotaur berserker
-> minotaur gladiator         -> minotaur champion -> minotaur mercenary

so the wild branch becomes more wild and furious (more hp, speed, strength) but uses simple weapons; while "enslaved" branch gets better equipment with just a slight boost to stats, with nice equipment avaliable to mercenaries who were intelligent and proficient enough to buy their freedom through long series of championship victories and to become mercenaries.

You should be able to see minotaur runaway slaves, minotaur savages and minotaur berserkers raiding villages and  minotaur mercenaries in small numbers in armies and taverns while minotaur slaves, minotaur gladiators and minotaur champions in prisons and captives.
How about this idea?

currently i'm building them a two handed club with studded metal. I'm guessing this is as advance as they get in the berserker troop tree. My weapons for them will start to regress technologically after that...  :D

edit : the mallet is done. Hope it looks nice, i gave it a lazy mapping and texturing

should i change the front? because i actually wanted a flat headed mallet (so it looks like the wood was carelessly cut)

Woah, that's pretty massive :P. Still, it'd look pretty great on the Hill Folk.

About that, we need some unique Hill Folk armours, too.

Hill folk would feature human usable weapons, mainly the warhammer....

I'm thinking that armor have to be halted for a while, if i start on armor, it's gonna take me a long time to perfectly make one.

Elenmmare, maybe you can use this mallet?
