So I've been trying my hand today at getting models and whatnot ingame, but apparently there's some **** about 3dsmax scaling system, and I need to shrink the models down to a minute level, I even rotated it and whatnot to fit into one of the reference hand models, and that doesn't seem to have worked either  :neutral:

Though now I've learned how to do this I should be able to get some model packs ingame and get some variation going, rather than everyone being Mr. Native  :lol:

I still have yet to download it, but it looks like fun.

The texture doesn't look at that - better than anything I can do. Atleast you know how to make it now, which means you'll just get better.

However, I have NO idea what happened in the first pic o_O

Hah thanks, I have to say, I get only the best bugs.

Right now the most elite troop in the Pinochian army, and the most elite troop IN THE GAME, is refusing to wear the best chestpiece in the game. He'd rather run around without so much as a shirt on, for some reason.

I've gotten Luigi's awesome stuff ingame, just figuring out what's unusable, a lot of shields and armours seem to cock up with the new heraldry system, but the weapons are perfect. Going to get a ton ingame and spread them around the troop trees, then look at strengthening mercenaries to the standard of other troops in the mod.

EDIT: I keep going to start some playtesting, get like 5 minutes into it, then get an idea of something to change, I've barely gotten to actually play the damn mod yet  :lol:

I know that if I don't go and do it right away I'll forget it, and writing stuff down is for chumps  :cool:
 
In the case of the Pinochian soldier refusing to wear armor, I have heard of similar problems and it is likely caused by him not fulfilling the strength requirement of the armor.

That'd be odd with 36 strength, but I guess it's still possible, either way I got round it just by using a different armour and upping the stats. Everything's going smoothly right now, got around 30 new items floating around the troop trees. Might do some retextures and whatnot tomorrow, upgrade the mercs, and see what else I can come up with.
 
Fixed the problem with the Pinochian soldier not wearing armour, seems I misclicked along the way and made his armour into a thrown weapon instead  :lol:

Also thanks to the awesomeness of stoned-dude and luigi's model packs, I have 30 custom items floating around the people now, all of them are still available in the shops, but for the REALLY good stuff you're looking at 15,000 denars plus.

Buffing mercenaries is next on the agenda, but I think I really need to sit down and a have a real good playtest to see if it's to my liking at the moment.

EDIT: Post ye scurvy dogs! I've still not gotten a single line of feedback  :evil:

I mean seriously, I see people posting about how much they love the melee combat in M&B, a mod focusing on melee gets released, and only gets 9 replies  :???: Out of every 250 who view the thread, one posts  :lol:
 
Bumping this hoping to get some feedback before I go mad. There's only so much I can change without people telling me how it plays. I'll always see it through tinted glasses and seriously need a second opinion.

ok, downloaded to mod, when it loaded it said it coulodn't find      textures/legolas_knife_0.dds.
I looked in the textures folder, the texture was there, solution?
 
I hate it when bugs pop up that have never ever popped up for me, all I can advise is download BRFEdit (Link).

Then open stoned.brf, go to the "tex" tab, and delete the legolas_knife texture, the mod doesn't actually use that texture so it's fine.

I really have no idea why this is popping up, never done it for me, looks like I'll need to re-release it, please tell me if it works.

EDIT: Just remembered I had to do the same when it gave me that error about a different texture, doing what I did fixed it, but I never ever got the legolas_knife error, how frustrating.
 
Just delete AL the legolas_knife files from BRF edit, and it works fine.

On that note, I got it to work and I like it, like the more grim scene and such, would like to see some archers and cavalry troops ( I know that's not the point of the mod, but still).

What does this mod need:

- Renaming almost everything (lords, Vilages etc.)
- It's own map.
- Lord's should get there own armour, (and maybe elite troops?)
- New kinds of bandits.
- New Banners (I can help on this note)
- Factions should have there own armors (try getting native out of here)
- maybe an extra faction?

In the event that I create the mod for 1.0 I'll have pretty much everything listed above. It has a lack of them mostly because I wanted to get releases out of the door quick, I'm sure if I'd have been going at it for 2 months with this level of response I'd have become incredibly demotivated. As for the armours I tried to get a bunch of the old model pack armours in, but the heraldry system raped them, and I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of making my own for this release, what with all the headaches importing the models gave me.

Going to get rid of the legolas_knife stuff and reupload.
 
Well I'll wait for 1.0 and when you do want to port, let me know I'll help with the banners.

Sorry for everyone that downloaded the game and just got slapped with a bug, seems I can't have a release go smoothly  :lol:

Brutal mod, love it.  :smile: The morale and formations work in such a way that would not occur with horses or ranged troops involved. Nothing like chasing enemy stragglers over the field, then watching them back into thier reinforcments and charge back at you.

Thanks for the kind words Hayabusa! I designed the mod with a larger battlesize in mind, to give the lower tiers a chance to take down an elite unit if they manage to attack en masse, but I guess that you get that nice effect with the lower battle sizes too  :lol:

Quickfix released to solve a few troop problems, these are pretty necessary, but you'll need to start a new game.

Enjoyable, though I encountered an odd bug where some of the Lords were clotheless in their castles/towns.

I hope you continue with this mod, despite the odd lack of support.  I'm going to release one that goes along a similar veign in a short while.
