Yes that seems to be the situation. I think im on the same page now.

Il Khanate will replace Ghaznavids, as for Khwarezm... im not sure how long they were around until they were gobbled up by the mongol empire, so if anyone has any details that'd be appreciated.

I have accidentally saved over my middle-eastern map with a test map, so i will have to re-create it later. that will be easy, just tiring to redo it over and over because that would be the 3rd time. (it was my first map.... and i was experimenting).

I will update information when the mod gets started, but for now we're still working on the first mongol mod, then we will work on this as an expansion. Anyone is welcomed to help, and obviously rightfully credited.

Khwarezm was captured by Mongols in 1220-1221, during the conquest of Central Asia (mostly Kazakhstan).

EDIT: Data fixed.

If you want this to be historic not fantasy:

Red = Il-khanate Dynasty led by Hulagu Khan (Mongol ruler with majority Turkic, Mongol and Persian population) NOTE: Corrected
Green = Mamluk Sultanate led by Sultan Baibar (Mamluks pretty much assumed power over the Ayyubids, Mamluks were Kipchaks - Turkic) NOTE: Found ruler's name!
Orange = Kipchak Khanate led by Mongke Khan (Mongol ruler with majority Turkic population)
Blue = Delhi Sultanate led by Iltutmish or Balban (both Turkic rulers)
Brown = Chagatai Khanate led by Chagatai Khan (Mongol ruler with majority Turco-Mongol population)

This is pretty much still the age of the Mongols =/
Heh or to be fair, the age of the Altai

so mamluks were kipchaks  :???: hmm ok.

Well that settles it. pretty much has to be our final factions. Not to mention we could also do something simular as we did in the original mongol mod with the Chins and Merkits, turn bandits into whichever other major faction was around in that time period.

Yup, freakin took nomads to kick another nomad's butt in this period

At this time there isn't many factions in the map except those main five, so this is actually a good idea for a mod too. The Mongol Yuan Dynasty in the east was slowly being overthrown in favor of the Chinese Ming so they would be too busy to even bother raiding the Chagatai Khanate or further west.

Also, one correction, my apologies, in this time frame - Hulagu Khan is the leader of the Ilkhanates. Temur came much later, and it was the Temur-Tokhtamysh civil war that completely destroyed the Kipchak Khanate/Golden Horde, and after Temur's death the empire fragmented bringing the Altaic influence in both areas to an end.

Mamluks were captured as children and then trained and moulded within the Islamic world to ensure their loyalty to their masters. They were "recruited" (i.e., enslaved) from areas near the Caucasus (mainly Circassian and Georgian), and from areas north of the Black Sea (mainly Turkic, most of whom were Kipchak Turks). Those captured were of non-Muslim religious background.

They were still part of Mongol Empire at the time :\

Btw I just did some clarification and I updated the post above for historical accuracy on the specific date ~1250

They were still part of Mongol Empire at the time :\

The Mongol Uls was never as united as it once was once Ogedei Khan died. The real big split between 4 occured at 1294, but there was already fragmentation occuring within from 1241.
