While scene editing all the red brick textures(and some stone textures, not native) turn to this funky metallic 3-D texture. Not right off the bat though, it happens usually once you place the item and hit space bar. Then the item is "selected" again with the yellowish selection indicator, that's when it usually happens.
And while I'm at it, how come the roof of the 2nd story is so tall? Those walls are on top of the floor but yet there's a gap.

1. The roof of the 2nd story house is too tall for the walls. Notice the gap between the walls and the roof on the 2nd story.
2. The outside texture of the 2nd story floor should be brick just like the first story is. The inside is wood just as the first floor but the outside texture is still wood. As I said, it should be brick, like the first floor.
