I agree... Age of Empires II is the worst, unlike its majestic predecessor which focuses on peaceful pathfinding.

Some games may be a risk factor indeed, but saying it's the game's fault is ignorant. The situation is more likely a result of multiple factors combined. M&B served as a platform via which these teens got to know one another. The game itself isn't explicitly graphic, violent or highly competetive, nor it's been mentioned it was a conflict that emerged from gaming.
 
Having been here for 10 years, I can confirm the media's exactly right.

Waiting 8 years for Bannerlord is enough to make anyone snap.
