Merchant Bug

when i ask a merchant "what do caravans buy an sell here" the game freeze and i have to close it and reopen errr

I have the same bug.

What happens in more detail is this:

1- I ask the question to a merchant
2- The camera shifts to my character
3- The game stops responding to any mouse or keyboard input. It does keep running however, since the 3D character keeps moving and the music playing. No keys, including ESC, nor any mouse input do anything anymore.

Reloading the save just before this happens makes the bug reoccur. However, going to another merchant can solve it. It seems this is the case because the other merchant immediately gives the hints, instead of the camera dialog (me asking, him answering). I have never had the bug when the merchant immediately answers.

This bug happens very frequently for me, about every 3 merchants I would guess and is quite a showstopper.

The same problem here, but only if I'm alone in the party. As soon as I recruit some men, problem disappears.

I get into the same problems.

last night it rebooted after I took a merchant mission to escort a caravan from Zendar to Rivacheng. When I reloaded the game and tried to play, the save file was missing. So i started a new character: and it could not even save.

Turns out the save file was corrupt because when i reboot the computer again, my Windows XP went into checkdisk mode and marked the save file as the problem.

Haven't played since... hope it works tonight.

(dang... and i was really enjoying my latest character)

I was without a party, played in the tourney a few dozen times in Zendar so I went to the Zendar merchant to buy some food and I asked what was for sale and it froze up like you described, I ctrl alt deletd out of it but this never happened to me before. Playing .704 now. Well I did the old leave town and go back trick and it worked. A goofy work around but better than nothing.

Same thing happened to me a few times too. After selecting that option i got an instant CTD. I loaded the game back up and tried the same thing and it worked fine though... It's done that exact same thing 3 times and i've been unable to intentionally duplicate it.
