Mercenary Attacking Faction on Truce?

I am playing on Prophesy of Pendor, but I've done this in numerous mods as well as vanilla, where I help out a faction against a kingdom's lord, while my faction has a truce with the faction whose lord I'm helping against.

To simplify it:

Player: Is a mercenary in employ of Faction A
Lord: Vassal of Faction B
Faction B and A have a truce
Mercenary helps third party defeat Faction B lord, lowers relations with faction B.

Now I'm wondering if I just screwed over my contract. Like I said, I have done this in other mods with bandit parties and such.

From my own experience, I don't think you have "screwed over" your mercenary contract. Seeing as you aren't in the employ of "Faction B" you cant exactly be reprimanded in any way. The only thing that could you could cause is a renewal of hostilities between "Faction A" and Faction B".

Actually all he needs to do is find a Lord from faction B and pay him a small fee to reset relations back to zero.  I think approaching a city belonging to faction B also gives the option to pay a fee to bring relations back up to zero.

I'm not that familiar with the perks of this particular mod, but won't the town be hostile towards the player in this particular situation?

Yes, and they won't let you inside until you pay a fee.
