Going through so many things seeing so many of their comrades die in battle (casualties are going to be much bigger in battles than before.)

You guys have to admit that it was totally unrealistic that with you on the field the most casualties i ever had was like 10 people :grin:
and now if you catch a lord and you have a prison there is a 1% chance for him to escape... and now there is a very little chance for them asking to give ransom (two more features)
Now the main buildings in the game are prisons schools and farms!

i know but why not make a faction of men of steel?
and make them the strongest,i know thats not a faction but whats wrong making a faction call Men of steel?
 
It sounds cheesy, and its not realistic :grin: in other words.. all the factions are going to be very strong :grin:
archers and crossbows are now about 5 times more effective :grin:
making archers one of the best soldiers... and the cool thing is its going to be like this in late game.. haveing like 300 archers, 500 infantry men, and like 100 or 200 horses with your lets say super strong 10 companions (companions are now strong bodyguards so if someone gets in the lines behind they can protect you :grin:
 
To add realism, you should enable player to control his armies from nearest hill. Seriously - you have over thousand soldiers and fighting against 200 - you are charging with your knights, one arrow and what? Oh s**t? Highly unrealistic.

Maybe think about making lords as war parties spawning from time to time from cities? Then you will have killable lords (no lord Matheas, lord Gundur and others. Just Rhodok Lord, Vaegir Lord as stronger, but ordinary units.)

Another issue - what with companions? Will they be also killable (which is stupid and in conclusion will leave you without companions, but also it is realistic) or will you leave them as they are (which make sense of hiring badly equipped trooper on low level for 300 denars, but is unrealistic).
 
No, companions will be very strong (usually not killed by a soldier but still take care... because they are killable.. andi like the idea of lords spawning :grin:)
And yes.. if the enemy has 200 soldiers lets say 100 are archers... but most of them aren't trained and wont make head shots they will just get the shield (which is the good thing) but i think its going to be very cool riding into battle and seeing like a guy next to you tramples on the ground :grin: and you know that if you slow down your next  :mrgreen:
and yes horses can survive one arrow at the most...
It is highly realistic that horses cant have two arrows stuck in their heads and still running like nothing ever happened...
And companions are like comrades (in the lord of the rings) you will have to take care about them (like you see a friend surrounded and you run to help out with your huge axe :grin:)
Bardishes and voulges (and axes) do more damage than swords now (which is realistic) but are 10% slower... (than before)
so swords are the faster but a bit less damage dealing weapons..
and being on a horse gives you a huge bonus on damage the first sword you get can make up to 60 damage (when going downhill and fully charging) horses have bigass charges now. And that worth it.. charging and being able to trample a guy and kill another one at the same time...
and horses are more expensive now making them a valuable lets say upgrade for the battle. chargers are the only ones with 70 hitpoints and about 27 body armor...
so be sure to buy good items for you companions (before using them to the fullest)
 
how about you add seige wepons and fire arrows?so when you shoot its with fire twice the damge,it will be good for archers,maybe can you make fire archers?
and those siege wepons that have rocks on flames(forgot the name)

to get the fire thing ask this guy that made a mod called:Arrow Inferno

that archers can fire arrows with fire

well i do know names of strong knights(real soldiers name)
example:Crusader knight

so here are some:Chivalric knight,Dismounted Chivalric knight,Feadul knight,noble Swordsman and some others if yuo want to change soldier names

and i started with unofficial stuff which is bad.. ill have to do everything again.

Its a surprise (but its still going to be great) now im just not sure about adding siege stuff in game and inferno (because it seems sort of buggy...) i mean i personally dont want to add these things yet...
But i was thinking of making another troop type called companions or heroes (so you can have them follow you and cavalry charge from a diff spot :grin:

i mean peiople falling off for no reason.. barely being able to get to the other ship...

It's true, but be careful what you say. I'm sure he put alot of time and effort in it.
Before throwing negative stuff at the current naval battles, I want to see that yours are better. I'm excited to see what's comin'.
I would like to volunteer to test the naval battle once you finished it. I'll be busy with the ASTCM mod but once I got time I'd love to test the new naval battles of yours. Note that ASTCM is the priority though!
Also, new siege equipment? Sounds exciting! What do you want to include?

I didn't mean it that way.. mirathei and Jubal will understand! :grin:
abou the siege equipment im not sure yet.. we will see... (it might just be a scene not actual usable rams) that opened the gate and you have a gate fight with the enemy :grin:

I've played it also. And I didn't like it.
First of all, it's highly unrealistic - what? Each archer was having packs odf arrows ready to make them fire and gaslighter? You know that arrow have to be prepared, before it can be flamed and despite of that, it needs also something that will put it in flames?

Not saying about flaming bolts :neutral:

well then you can do like its reloding a time for it to be a little more relistic but you can't do the thing you said in the game but the wood will make it burn and also in real life they would of put the swords men forword and the archers back and do a line of oil and then do somthing to it to be on flames and they take each time they take 1 arrow put it in the fire and then take it out and realise it
you can see it in the gladiater movie to be more propise
but you can't do it in the game

Yes. You are telling the truth. That's why I don't like this mod with flaming arrows. Guy who shots arrows that are in flames, or not looks stupid.

Not telling about flaming bolts. But it's not thread of Inferno mod, so we should cease this discussion and leave the decision to MISHO

and personally it doesn't add to the realism...
i am almost done with the naval battles so i will just give you a testing demo of the fights to see what needs be changed :grin:

It has bee resolved.. ships are being added...
Now please who said no? post your reasons so we can discuss...
 
I have added ranks and ships to the game and they both work great (this isn't the final version of naval battles since i made the ships a little too big and i didn't make my own :grin:
for now its longships thanks to James :grin:
And ranks you can turn on and off... to use them you need at least 2 tactics and some leadership to form one rank other than your own :grin:
Just been experiencing some problems with the main rank (you're rank) they don't listen to you.. which i will help foxy fix it :grin:
That's why the ranks are toggleable.I will be soon be releasing some screens (and be giving the mod to two lucky testers!).

looks nice. Have a question though - how is surgery going to affect player and companion mortality(if at all)?
 
Well it makes the chances of you actually dying in battle less , but there will be a surgeon companion!
with 8 surgery and then when he/she levels enough they master the art of surgery :grin:
i was thinking of adding all of this to another mod :grin: i mean turn this mod into a napoleonic mod?
what do you think?
i will make a release like this but i wanted to make a mod with gunpowder... Added a poll :grin:
 
The reason is naval battles aren't worth using in calradia... it would be cooler to use it across europe and maybe america!
But i guess i will release both unless some people disagree.
 
True, but I believe seeing guys with rifles on a ship like in Southern Realms would just be extremely degrading.
So, just finish this one with naval battle and then release a Napoleonic mod

Why don't you just make a new map for this mod so then you can have naval battles
