It puzzled me why anyone would add the extra i in aluminium.
They are pronounced in my mind as follows.

Aluminum: Ah-loo-min-um
or
Aluminium: Ah-loo-min-yum

I think this should be the point where someone either accuses you of being "autistic" or calls you "edgy". Even though the autistic thing is on its way out again, it seems, at least I see it less and less. "Edgy" on the other hand...
