i'll make this short(for the moderators, ofcourse :grin:) I would like to know if i can change the double barreled caliver's speed (i mean like i never have to reload or then reeallly quickly) and also accuracy, because i LOVE the firearms but i hate their accuracy.

So you want to change the reload rate and accuracy to make an over-powered d.b.c.? You realize that I.S. guards will use the same weapon unless you make a copy of the item and change it or edit the IS guard troop entry. Use the Item Editor to change the accuracy and reload rate, it's pretty easy.

ok ok, slow down venitius lol :mrgreen: first of all I'm happy that u seem to know all about it :grin:. second, what is a d.b.c.? and where can i get the Item Editor?
sorry for all those questions

i don't get it, after a few minutes i found the files where i could edit. then i edited the cartridges to have 1000 ammo and saved it as cartridges2. second i edited the dbc and just saved the file now when i play the game my dbc i just as it used to be? i looked but i didn't find any guide for the item editor. it would be nice if someone would explain how to.

i've looked everywhere and i still didn't find a detailed guide. So i'm gonna write what i do and maybe you could explain to me what i'm doing wrong?
1. I start up itemeditor and i open the file item_kinds1
2. I select the dbc wich is nr. 486
3. I change weapon max ammo to 100 and accuracy to 100. I didn't change anything else.
4. I go to "file" and click on "save file". (sometimes a message appears that says that access to item_kinds1 has been refused. but i click on continue)
here are the message details:

************** Débogage JIT **************
Pour activer le débogage juste-à-temps (JIT), le fichier de configuration pour cette
application ou cet ordinateur (machine.config) doit avoir la valeur
jitDebugging définie dans la section system.windows.forms.
L'application doit également être compilée avec le débogage
activé.

Par exemple :

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

Lorsque le débogage juste-à-temps est activé, les exceptions non gérées
seront envoyées au débogueur JIT inscrit sur l'ordinateur
plutôt que d'être gérées par cette boîte de dialogue.

okay, I've got a problem. when I use it, (version 960, people said it would still work. using windows vista, if that makes a difference) I go to change the items, (in Hegemony 268 B.C., but it should still work, right?) then I change some stats and stuff like that, then I go to save file. then a message pops up that says:
Unhandled exception has occured in your application. if you click Continue, the application will ignore the error and attempt to continue. if you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
access to the path 'C:\Program Files\Mount&Blade\Modules\Hegemony 268 B.C\item_kinds 1 .txt' is denied.
then at the bottom, there's a three things I can click, Details, Continue, and Quit. Naturally, I pressed continue. However, the item ststistics did not change in game.
(and yes, I do have .net framework.)
if you can help, that would be GREAT.
I use Vista myself, and its security 'features' can cause quite a hassel.  You need to make sure you run the app in administrative mode, as Windows is not allowing you to actually update the file.  Right click on the executable, and i think there is an option there to always run as an admin (I'm at work now on an XP machine, so I'm going from memory).  If that doesn't work, try right clicking on the Mount and Blade directory and check the security settings.  It is possilble the rights on that folder (or files within) are not allowing you write access.

Gist:razz:roblem is because of Vista. You have to run the editor as an administrator, I think. Does that help?

i don't get it, after a few minutes i found the files where i could edit. then i edited the cartridges to have 1000 ammo and saved it as cartridges2. second i edited the dbc and just saved the file now when i play the game my dbc i just as it used to be? i looked but i didn't find any guide for the item editor. it would be nice if someone would explain how to.

So you edited the cartridges then pressed File>Save as> Cartridges2? Then you edited the DBC then pressed save?
If that's what you did, then what happened is the edits got saved to a file named cartridges2.txt. So when you played the game, the game just loaded the original item_kinds1.txt (that didn't get edited becasue you pressed save as) which doesn't have the edits so you only got you vanilla DBC. If I'm right, the easy way to get your edits to work is by renaming the file cartridges2.txt to item_kinds1.txt and overwriting the original item_kinds1.txt.( you could also just transfer the original item_kinds1.txt to a back up folder)

But that would require patience and time, and most of us have neither.

Or skill. Which is why I'll own your sorry asses once multiplayer comes out  ^_^

Bring it LOL!!FAG!! man, just cause you're a moddeer doesn't mean you got skills better than mine. I'll couch your face off.

Haha, the easiest thing to counter with tEatRC, is couching. I can now solo the Laurian knights with a Spirited Hunter and a Double Barrelled Caliver, they just can't catch up with me, and if I stay weary enough, I don't find myself gored.

A guy riding a Spirited Courser with 10 riding will couch you before you even see him coming, which is what I'll do, and I'm not an idiot who would ride straight at you, I ride along the outer-edge of the map till I can charge in behind you, kill you and your horse in one lightning fast strike.
