Modeled neck or allowing the head to be visible is necessary. I also feel that while the colours are good, they are too strong. Quite nice aside from that.

How does your horse look so nice? I've got it on highest setting but my horses aren't that pretty. I've seen other screenshots of horses and they all look nicer than mine. It's saddens me.

Oh and good news deja

john cage we already talked about this, yes it's possible to make real aventails now but what you show in your 2 pieces: lower part is attached to the armor and the rest to the head, just an optical illusion

Thanks for sharing that ! I was using  DXT 3 and 5   ... That explains why there were so big ...

Is it ok to use the same format for normal maps ?

Dxt1 is a texture without alpha channel, Dxt3 has a rather undetailed alpha, Dxt5 has a detailed a detailed alpha map

envmaps are the little globe-y thing with a bit of scenery

and are used to render reflections on an object.

At least to my understanding that's what it is.

I think the environment mapping works really well on the helmet.

There seems to be a culture of hatred, towards them, in the community. Loads of people don't even use them for weapons.

Shame, if you ask me.

Yeah, it looks gorgeous. The only time I've seen people use them is with the evnmap material, and it always makes it this fake glossy, super shiny item.

What's the process to get it to look actually good, deja?
