so , now that im a duke with ( town , 2 castles and a vilage ) i want to start a rebelion or Independence
any idea how to do that ?

Conquering a castle, asking for ownership of the said castle and gettinng refused the right to own it is the only way I've seen to work so far...

On another post I mentioned the waving flagged spears... Turns out they are lances because my own cavalry uses them as lances. NOW I really want them!!! troycall how can I get them? Please dont say that they act like the old infantry flags (the static ones)... As in undroppable and not available for sale...

There are several variants, Spears, Lances, Staves.

You can buy them from shops (I think its rare), or pick them from a dead body (easiest way).

Good to hear that. The rates must be as low as the Earth's core then :p Or I am just being unlucky

Time to start leveling the looting skill xD

Edit: the AI seems to be spear bracing a lot less than in 1257AD... When before I couldn't even come close to an enemy spearmen from the front now I can almost charge them head on and live to tell the story... Did you tweak the AI mechanics to make it less occuring or does it depend on the soldier's level?

Will check the F5 menu in battle when I have the chance, maybe it has something to do with it.

So i found couple things again.

There is typo when you are recruiting noble lords from your village "Excelent" when it should be Excellent, minor thing but still...

There is a bug, when im asking Deutchsmeister Dietrich von Gruningen about permission to visit his daughter Mistress Francesia he gives me a very strange reply: "Jon the Norwegian - personalityclash speech b" I wonder what that means...?

I got this error while i was travelling on the world map, so i guess its related to random events? I was a member of Teutonic Order but i chose to "go help my brothers fight for god" which made vassal of Crusader States.

I also get a error while disbanding manor troops. I don't know if they're supposed to return to the manor but nothing happens except manor troops disappear when i disband them. (ill post the error code next time it happens)

Oh and I would like to know aswell if there is something to replace lords that are killed in battle. If there isn't and lords keep dying and dying it will eventually become a situation where there is little or no lords at all.

Also is there anyway to disable feature that while under siege, defenders get their ammo replenished every 10 seconds or so? Its nightmare to take over castles or cities right now because infantry gets murdered javelins or other throwing weapons which just keep replenishing endlessly, also its ridiculously easy to defend with throwing weapon infantry.

Personal SubMod Script edit for Medieval Conquests
makes merchants have 9999 gold
10x xp gain 3x gold gain per battle
set non king morale bonus to 24 and king morale bonus to 27

Search for the names in scripts.txt then copy and paste over. Make backup before changing anything.

Must be done everytime the script.txt file gets updated.

...data...

looks cute but I think there is one problem there...
the merchants can have more money but they get to that value too slowly...
You should have also edited the " 250 500 " to something more like " 2000 4000 ", I think that is what the merchants get each week or whatever... any value between those two values. If they continue at 250-500 they will replenish the money, but it might take ages, more time than you'd like.

Again, regarding the waving flag lances... They should have the same range values as the Heraldic lances... 190 seems really short when any good "vanilla" lances have 250+
Also the spears are OP as hell xD 90 damage??? Jesus Christ... with a 245 range xD I don't really use them, I just place them at the back of my personal bodyguard to make them look cool, because unlike lances they DO appear at the back when not unsheathed.

EDIT: They do not put the spears at the back and use lances... They just pick the spears instead of the lances ;_;

Love the mod.  Only have two questions: First, is there any way for my independent kingdom to not be Roman Catholic?  I am playing a Mongel princess and as soon as I go independent, my kingdom turns Roman Catholic. Second, is marriage working, I've gotten engaged on several characters and a couple of months after, I have still to get married.  Sorry for my English, it's not my first language.

1°- You can change it later by speaking with one of your court employees. Cant remember which one...
2°- Yes it is working. Remember that you need 20 rep with the princess before you can propose or ask her father to marry her (not visit). If she has accepts to marry you and you spoke to her father/brother for the preparations you just have to wait, what can take a while if he is captured or in campaign.

EDIT: you are a female char... No idea on female marriage in this game

The most reliable way to get married as a female character is to follow your intended husband till he enters a castle/town. Go the the Castle Hall / Town Castle and talk to him. He says something like, "I'm tired of waiting, let's get married now." Agree, and you get the marriage cut scene and a husband!

If you're lucky enough to catch him at a feast, talking to him there triggers the normal marriage dialog.

I tend to ask any friendly nobles where my fiance is to keep tabs on him, if I can't be hanging around all the time. If I get a reply like "[your fiance's name] is traveling to [castle name] castle and is near [village name]." I get to that castle as quickly as I can.

ANY friendly castle or town works for a marriage, as long as you and your fiance are both there.

Thanks John and OGB! Finally got one of my chars married, but all my choices for religion remain Roman Catholic when speaking with my minister (It lists 5 choices but they're all the same). Also, does anyone know how often natural disasters happen in the same city?  Just got near my entire 600 men garrison wiped out because of a flood.

Never seen a flood before, but I once saw a fire in Orleans that lasted almost a full ingame week and never saw any again so far, so I'd say the worst ones (floods, fires, etc) are rare, perhaps once every month, while others that just decrease your party's morale are fairly common, happening once every few days in random locations on the map

And if you have any other doubt feel free to ask. I am really enjoying this mod and following it closely, updating and testing it almost the minute a new version comes out, so if I am roaming the forums for news and can help anyone on the way I'll be glad to do it

Sorry for the double post but... troycall, how's the bugfixing going?
I am taking a break, the next patch is on hold, I do not know how long as I may have travel obligations soon, either way I can't provide an ETA for the next patch.

i think this expansion has very much potential. the artistic work is excellent!
thank you for the work you've done. although i haven't been able more than twice
(it wont load)
do you plan on having pained helmets??
thanks again.

for the person who asked in the l'aigle thread aabout having insane ammounts
of debts in the beginning of the game, it was an old thing that drTomas, the previous
developer of 1257 was saying that it had to do something with wse)

Hi there. I'm an old player of the 1257AD mode. There are some bags that have never been resolved in the mod : In particular some pathfinding issues during sieges .

  1) Byzantine towns: Once in the second phase when you "fight in the streets" the attacking army never finds its way up to the walls leaving you alone to fight your way out.

  2) In Italian cities (maybe some european also) there is an inner court in the city where some defenders sprawl , that is inaccessible to attackers . This happens during the main attack and strangely it has never been resolved .

there were some issues that I reported back then but weren't resolved . There are some old posts of mine in the original mod's thread . I just encountered the first one mentioned above in your mod . It should be greate if you could finally fix it . After a while it gets game breaking.
  Thank's for your jentile attention.

Hey I got a suggestion for this mod regarding horses!!
I saw a horse with heraldic cloth instead of the pre-made patterns that exist atm and it may seem to look really cool  any way to implement it in this mod?

I saw it in a video about a mod called "Dickplomacy" (yes, DICKplomacy), at exactly 4:12 in the spoiler.

I've noticed that weapon damage is very high in this mod such that kills are basically one-shot. Is there any way to disable the realistic damage and go back to the standard M&B damage model? To clarify, I don't have 'hardcore' mode enabled.

Are you speaking of any weapon in specific? You can go to the options menu and set the damage to the player to 1/2, or you can buy armor

No, all weapons. Yesterday I fought against some deserters and mowed down five in a row with single one-handed sword hits to the face. I then got 95% of my health taken off by a thrown spear and died quickly after. Bear in mind my character is level 2 or something.

As another example I just played some arena matches in the town. I was taking out everyone on the field in 2 hits, and get 90% of my health taken off from one hit from the enemy. I have ensured that hardcore mode is disabled - however playing another arena match with hardcore mode *enabled* did not seem to make any difference; again I was taking out people with 2 hits and got taken down by one sideswipe from a staff and a stray arrow. I wonder if the hardcore mode toggle is somehow broken and it's stuck on?

Edit: Just faced off against 20 mountain men with 5 guys. Every hit was one kill against them, then I got one-shotted by an arrow. Player damage was set to 1/2(easy) in the menu. Surely this can't be right??

Have you edited in any way the character stats? You can be one-shoted by an arrow or bolt at low level fairly easy if you do not have any armor, even with armor bolts can deal 20+ damage.
The throwing weapons are known to be severely overpowered (not in my case because I edited the damage of thrown weapons ), but other than that I have not noticed any weapon "OPness" killing everybody in one hit... even against low level enemies with my sword it is rare to kill them with one hit at level ~20, so I really don't know what is happening with you, my only guess would be you have messed with the character file or put a LOT of points into one-handed skill, which is hard at level 2...

Regarding that last edit, what weapon were you using? I really mean the full name of the sword, and also your one-handed and power strike skills, I really find it impossible for you to be able to kill everything in one hit...
Also, are you on foot or on horse? Horses do give you a charge bonus, which vs low level enemies means a lot of damage and easy kills

OK, new experiment complete with numbers.

Day 2
Level 1
Health 49
Ironflesh 2, powerstrike 2, shield 1, one-handed weapons 77.

Weapon: 1-handed sabre, swing 39c.
Armor: Crude leather jacket +14 body, crude skullcap with nodeguard +69 head

Damage to player option : normal

Faced 18 mountain bandits. Immediately died in 1 hit from a spear in melee combat that did 114 damage.
Reloaded, died 2 hits - 39 dmg, 32 damage.
Reloaded, died 3 hits, 29, 15, 32 dmg.
Reloaded and found 17 looters. I took down 8 in a row with 1-2 hits per kill doing between 30 and 55 damage per hit before dying in roughly 3 hits.
Reloaded and fought the same 17 guys. Took out 15 in a row before they all ran away. Sword was doing between 30 and 55 damage per hit. Anything over 45ish appeared to be a 1-shot kill.
Reloaded and found a tournament. Fought one on one against a guy with a one handed sword. Died 1 hit, 96 damage. Again, died 58 damage, again 69 damage. For these guys I could hardly get a hit on them as they kept feinting over and over (I have Doghotel's brainy bots disabled and the feint chance set to zero, with poor AI). When I did hit against their iron helm it was doing 0 or 1 damage.

I think it's just broken.

Edit: The disparity between the head and chest armor is huge. I wonder if this mod has really emphasized the importance of armor far more than in native? This would explain why my hits to unarmored faces are killing so easily, why my hits against armored heads are doing so little and why hits against my relatively poorly armored body are doing so much.
