Max Intelligence/Medicine is hands down the most OP skill in the game currently. With Medicine maxed out you can gobble up armies by yourself without needing to create an army. It's also one of the best ways to get max renown gain. And if you enjoy siege defenses you can basically get winnable siege defenses on demand whenever you want one against the strongest armies in the game. Please tell me I'm wrong. I welcome it.

When i tested it having just the last medicine perk is as good as having all captain bonuses for your infantry.

It's that stupid good. and that was just at 300, not even 330.

It really is that stupid good. I would hate it if happened but I think medicine should of been nerfed over smithing and steward final perks. I've heard people saying charm is OP but nothing holds a candle to medicine. It's just silly.

Yes, when you choose to race against an invisible clock you forgo the final perks for 3/4 of all skills.
No, most perks are easy enough to get. But, without taking heavy losses, which you probably dont want to, then you are just not going to advance in medicine very fast; even with doctors oath.

Most combat perks are easy to get quickly. But cunning, social and intelligence all take more time. I welcome losses as long as their injuries. And I'm fine with losing troops too because once you get going replacing high tier troops isn't very difficult especially archers. How many in game years does it take you to reach 275 medicine?

it used to be way harder to level any skill to the last perks. So they were and still are broken as a sort of "reward" i guess.

Steward has already been nerfed, it's likely that others will too.

Not quite. Charm is probably one of the easiest to level. Leadership and roguery are fairly easy, though they canabilize each others.

I dont really know how long you can expect it to take normally. In my current campaign 7(5) medicine I have 229. But, I am on clan tier 5 with 3.500 renown..

An INT build is really not something that I would try again. Note. I am trying an infantry heavy party so it seemed worth trying to go for medicine (not really)

I'd say steward is the easiest one cause it's passive. In any campaign its best to focus on two attributes. One primary that you want to get to 10 asap and one secondary that you build over time. If you go for medicine its best to go full 10 attributes asap which is very easy to achieve quickly but then that means your secondary attribute will take longer. In your current playthrough what year is it with those skill stats? And what are you other attribute point distribution looking like? In my play through I got 10(5) medicine and got 275 by the 4th year in. But I got 10 attribute points in very early on so that helps a lot. I choose INT over a social build because although charm and leadership have amazing perks you get more utility out of medicine's final perk than you do out of either charm or leadership final perks.

Yeah, medicine became more viable after one of the latest beta patches. I think your right and because the game wasn't meant to be beaten so quickly. It just goes to show how they need to find ways to make the game more challenging but at the same time eliminate useless grind.

Difference of opinion on that. Charm is a must have, its just not up for negotiation. Incidentally, same goes for riding 225 (prisoners) and, personally, I just like having 275 in atletics too soo endurance is a priority.

4 years into the game is lategame, so your own party isnt really going to make a huge difference at that point.

I agree that max focus points are a must have for charm and leadership but attribute points is debatable.

If late game is around year 1087/88 that's an indictment on the lack of challenging gameplay not that medicine takes too long.

At the end of the day it comes down to how you play. I think it would be more accurate to say that the game can be very grindy.

No matter how you play you're not getting any level 275 perks on max attribute/focus points before year 1086/87. No matter if its a game or real life conquering is always a grind.

Of course you can.
If your not getting medicine till late game your not getting charm till late. And late game extra influence futile anyway. Truth be told everything is futile late game cause there is zero challenge left its all just mopping up otherwise known as the grind.

Yes you are. While I have 229 medicine I also have 278 charm. Again, charm is one of the easier skills to level.

With equal distribution of attribute points to either charm or medicine they both level up about at the same pace. So to say that medicine is too slow to level isn't valid. Regardless you are in late game and your charm just got to 275. Just like my medicine got to 275 while I was in late game. Do you see what I'm saying? Your argument that medicine is to slow to have any value isn't valid cause then neither does your charm. Are saying level 275 charm is more OP cause it's slightly easier to level?

Do you see what I'm saying?
No, I actually have absolutely no clue what you are trying to say.

They do not level the same. There is still a long way to go from 229 to 275 let alone 278. It is hardly a slight difference.

Anyway, from my perspective its just not a perk you(I) will get within a timeframe where it still holds any relevance. So, no, I dont personally think it is overpowered.
