Still the coolest looking armour IMO. Are Plaguewardens going to be the next to get a new armour?

30th May was the anniversary of Saint Jeanne d'Arc so I decided to start a new game under her name to celebrate, and I realised my character's name just match the game's illustration

Howdy doo, everyone. I decided to start a new save to try how it would go soloing enemies as a Horse Archer from the very start of the game. I chose the starting options Son of Outcast D'Shar Clan Leader->Page for Barclay Noble->Bard->Letter so I had rumor thing down to 4 and have all factions but Fierdsvain to be hostile to me, as well as negative relations with Ulric and Bahadur Khan. I set myself the challenge of not buying off peace with money but by saving villagers from lowly bandits. It made for an interesting start where I actually had to sneak into towns a lot. Since my character is son of a D'Shar man and a woman descendant of King Cavalas, I set my name to Ahmed Cavalas. First thing I did was arena melee in Javiksholm until I was level 5 and could afford decent equipment in the shop. Ever since I have been wrecking havoc all over the map. Basically I'm trying to get my experience/ingame day ratio as high as possible. Only time I have trully idled was 3 ingame days collecting taxes in Avendor so Brennus would let me buy an enterprise lol.

I've been building my character around the fact that I'll use 3 elixirs to up my STR, AGI and CHA 6 times. I have also set that I want to be at least 35/24/27/24 on attributes to be able to use best armor and max out all important skills. Counting all achievements as well as the elixirs and the books, that means 28+7/17+7/23+4/14+10, so I can have the base attribites ready by level 41, quite reasonable. Any extra level would focus mainly on CHA, since the CHA achievements are the most grindy. Speaking of, I am making sure to win the most honor possible (mainly by rescuing every lord, but also liberating ladies in waiting and helping infestated villages) because I won't start kingdom until I have 500 of it. I keep detailed track of who gets taken prisoner and where they end up, as well as their family members and personalities, so I can decide which I just rescue and which I start quest first, since I plan to have literally every GN/Ups/Mar lord in the game as a vassal eventually.

Just as last time I'm working as free agent until I start my kingdom, will make Sarleon my capital for roleplaying reasons, where I'll make my CKO, while opening Griffon chapters on every other fief (will become Grandmaster of it too). Since I solo most battles other than village defenses, I'm just increasing my army as I get more Noldor troops from Lethaldiran. My objective is to keep my army distribution as 12% HA, 29% Noldor and 59% Huscarls so it doesn't become extremely expensive.

Used the Rane QG on elixir, but I've been pretty unlucky and no RBH map has been given to me yet. As soon as I get 2 QG to spend on a 2nd elixir and on opening Quigfen's shop (as well as gambling one to get 4 NTK and 12 Noldor Rangers :fruity:), I'll get myself a Noldor Spirit Horse and start taking "possible-to-solo" spawns like Wolfbode, Eyegrim, Heretic Army or Snake Cult Army (Mystmountain Army too if I'm brave enough to face 15+ Hero Adventurers at once) to rocket my experience/day ratio sky high.

Anyways, here come screenshots (and some gifs) of my current stats after 75 ingame days, as well as the report f the biggest army I have solo'd so far.

You must be so good at shooting from horseback, as you can see my Jeanne d'Arc above, I have a high prof as well as high PD and HA skill (because that was an imported character), I usually hit only 15-20 arrows of 2 large bag of noldor arrows

Well, I have had a good amount of experience with several mods of Warband, but I didn't truly master the Way of the Horse Archer until I encountered PoP. By now I hit the target about an 80% of the time when going full speed with the horse, even in a lateral direction of shooting. Eventually I'll have to actually use my army when facing actual threats like any army with decent bowmen/crossbowmen, but the average vermin stands no chance against me and my bow.

To be honest, the people of Pendor should start calling me the Singalian Pest Control by now, because bigger and bigger armies of them are spawning but I keep curbstomping them every time :fruity:

The last days of my first 100 were pretty eventful, got a few screenshots to share about them. I'll divide them in 3 posts. Hope it doesn't feel too spammy

Day 98 - Solo'ing Wolfbode

Ah yes, just as my last save, this battle being my first big spawn to solo seems to be a tradition. Here we see the man himself going for a stroll near Ravenstern
23cf9fb9e3126a3f68ef579f25dfde06.png

But unlike last time, where I had to retreat twice due to lack of arrows, this time I came prepared: Ullr'Vtr Manifest and around 1300 arrows, plus 6 shields from my companions just in case.
https://i.gyazo.com/f9f9621a4985e35e4635b611c9a6ee3b.gif
What can I say, the first hour was pretty intense, I still didn't have a Noldor horse so the Shamans on Coursers and the Honor Guards were faster than me, meaning I had to take them down as fast as possible. I knew that 1300 arrows weren't enough to take out 734 enemies, so I rode close to the map limit, so that whenever an enemy did the temporary retreat, they actually achieved to rout and I didn't have to deal with them yet. Mystmountains are notorious for how their shooting skills and damage is comparable to mere bandits, and this screenshot of my shield before being about to give in shows it
8a6fc8dd896d966cad7679b0f64aa429.jpg

After killing around 600 enemies, I had only 5 arrows left, which I wanted to save for Wolfbode, so from that point on I used my morningstar, but that soon stopped being an option when my HP bar went below 25%, so I had to resort to ramming the remaining warriors and raiders with my horse, replacing it whenever necessary with another of the horses my army left behind at the start of the battle. Finally, I shot Wolfbode with my last arrows and stood over his body.

e7048cb4725a8f0455ecdc9a89c268e6.jpg

Of course, this wasn't over. The 40 guys that routed and Wolfbode came for another round, which was as fighting your average Mystmountain patrol. I stood over Wolfbode once more, and the preroll fell on my 65% of capture chance. This damn battle took near 6 hours of my day, but by God was it worth it in the end.

This meant my 2nd Qualis Gem after the one at Rane (still no RBH map received sadly). I went to a feast at Rane to celebrate the victory. There I asked the lords about recent events and, uh-oh, would you look at that?

Time to go back to Ravenstern :fruity:

Day 99 - Solo'ing Boris the Raven

First things first, I accepted a quest at Rane and then gambled with my QG to get 4 NTK and 12 Noldor Rangers. This means I had now access to a nice little thing my lvl 6 of riding can use: Noldor Goldleaf Warhorse :iamamoron:
So, back in Ravenstern, I sell stuff from a recent battle against bandits and there he is, coming right after me
c3b0de73084d03287cb5db29322f4156.png

I bought a few more arrows in Ravenstern as a temporary thing, now I'm up to 1400 arrows. These knights aren't riff-raff like the Mystmountains, they have armored horses and trying to wait for them to lower shield and then fail to shoot them down means piercing damage to my ass, whether it's a short lance or a morningstar, so I go safe and kill all the horses chasing me, only killing riders with long couchable lances. Thankfully their horse archers are not much better than a Mystmountain Warrior, so they are nothing to worry. After shooting all horses down, I kill guys on foot until new enemies come, then I decide to retreat as I would had wasted the rest of my arrows just on killing horses
7a3111fc5f0463da5772546fad0b6ab7.png

Now that 322 enemies remain and most have low armored horses, I'm more confident that I have enough arrows and go for a finish in round 2. I ended up with only 16 arrows left, so my calculations were correct only by a tiny bit :iamamoron:
Of course, I stood over Boris' body at the end, and the preroll was in my favor again. 3rd Qualis Gem is mine.

Day 100 - Character stats update

Just finished reading the +1 INT book, I still gotta use a QG on my 2nd elixir, so I'm saving those 2 skill points until then. Will spend them on PD and Riding most likely.

Next main objective is reaching neutral relations with Noldor and then opening Quigfen's shop and getting hold of my one true love, the Noldor Spirit Horse

One of the next few things coming in Patch 3.9.4 is that some Snake Cult units got a unique skin to differentiate themselves from the Heretic factional demonic units. Units like Dread Legionnaire and Anaconda Knights will sport the new look.

Additionally, Knights of the Radiant Cross will sport a new redone armor that incorporates their old Pendorian heritage with that of the Baccus Empire when General Oasar invaded many, many years ago.

Day 125 - Solo'ing Eyegrim the Devourer in 1 round

When I saw the notification of HIM spawning, my "experience farm detector" lighted up. I was in Sarleon when it happened, so after a quick trip to Marleons, I went towards Avendor to see if He spawned there. A bit past Foxtead, I found the army.
b02afb5095bee86c8d1c0578b8bfe577.png

I already had experience with this battle before, so this time I came well prepared Shields up, you bastard
1b47038790900dc03b9289c13df6d2f5.png

Taking out Eyegrim and his 47 revenants was fairly easy, the Noldor Spirit Horse easily outruns them after all. It allowed me to safely take this screenshot after all my troops succesfully retreated from the battlefield
665fa6d7d694ff4976bc17b9de1a4c15.png

After killing Eyegrim, I went to a corner of the map and circled around the Revenants so they would waste their throwing axes. After that, every revenant but one had either a 2 handed weapon or a couchable lance, so I just gave 2 shots to each of their heads and they went down. The other had a morningstar so I decided to kill the horse instead just to avoid any risks. Next came the truly tedious part: Circling for 1 hour around almost 300 angry zombies constantly throwing stuff at me. I switched to 2 shields and a Netherworld Charger to make it out in 1 session without having to switch horse in the middle of it. This was the final result of that first wave (We became hedgehogs :iamamoron:)
43eb06da2814f9e4fac774b65a8311d5.png

Next waves were easier as they more and more consisted of basic fallen that had no throwing stuff, so 2nd wave had 100 guys with throwing, 3rd wave had about 50 and the 4th and last only had 3. They all could fall down in 1 headshot so in the end I still had 300 arrows left in the inventory baggage. The battle took about 5 hours, 3 shields and 3 horses to complete
8df6c2c0771de1fce58348b5faffe44d.png

2d45e91574c3e4cab9c53bed38192f40.png

I also got the CKO secrets so everything is nice. I wonder how it will be to solo Eyegrim in 3.9.4 since his army is having some major changes.
As a side note, here's a silly quote from an EG knight before I smited him, and the new toy I found in a shop shortly after :fruity:

Day 143 - Solo'ing Kodan Ironsword

Well, as soon as the good fella Kodan joined Ulric as payed mercenary, I knew I was off to a rather easy QG. Just by looking at his info on the wiki I knew solo'ing him would be like a stroll through the park, and so it was :fruity:

Day 150 - Character stats update

I still have trouble beating many of these parties even with a strong late game army filled with huscarls and CKO's

Patience is key, if you have enough of it you can take down almost any army alone given enough time. Notable exceptions are armies with more than about 50 crossbowmen or arquebusiers, since their ammo lasts for so long that they have time to spread all over the battlefield and make you lose focus or their positions, not to mention their chance of piercing through the shield and hitting you anyways, making it not possible to stand alone. I learned this the hard way when I tried to solo a Heretic Army, the minions proved to be the bane of my strategy. This is of course on battlesize 530 and unlimited reinforcement waves. On the Native settings of 150 battlesize and 2 reinforcement waves it should be possible to solo everything.

This is the best thing I've ever stumbled across as an early game character! I didn't even know either of those two armies were on the map!

I'm playing on v3.9.4 now. I upped my Lone Ranger playstyle so hard that I'm level 38 by day 31. Will post stats update when I reach day 50

For now I'll leave you with this. Receiving these 2 notifications one right after the other was a rollercoaster of emotions...

Defeated Eyegrim with the help of a Fierds marshal host that was sieging Marleons. He escaped but left behind the best damn present I have ever received.

Day 50 - Character stats update

To give some context, I'm just about to go beat the Red Brotherhood Hideout that will grant me my 2nd QG, which I'll use on a 2nd elixir, hence the skill points I've been saving. Things are going even more quickly than last playthrough, I've achieved a XP/day ratio of over 40k, as well as a ratio of 2 honor/day from focusing even more on honor winning stuff. One more QG and beating a Mystmountain Army, and I'll be able to ride the Demon Horse plus buying a Noldor Horse and other nice items and be cappable of solo'ing certain big armies. So far big armies defeated were Eyegrim, a Heretic Army and an Inquisition Holy Army, all with help of faction marshal hosts. Atm the other big spawns roaming the lands are a Snake Cult Army, 3 Jatu Armies and the 2 Noldor Lords.
