(congrats on that kill score! lol)

Thats a bad siege for me not enough enemies and I had to do too much dodging.
A fellow heraldic mail and plate fan.
No pics of the wife  :shifty:

Does anyone else use this spot when attacking the snake cult stronghold?
Z6G3jeA.jpg

Such a great spot to manage the battle from as you can see whats inside, scavange arrows and do some fancy jumping attacks.

I barely break 15-20 enemies on a good day. I can't imagine how you managed to kill so many enemies. You must be part god for 300 to be a bad day.  I still say congratz! I aim to be killing that many one day!

I love the heraldic mail and plate armor. My custom banner looks pretty cool on it, too, at least I think so even if my charge doesn't fit exactly right on it. I saw the armor in the marketplace and immediately went to the arena to save up for it. I'll hate the day when I'll come across stronger stuff, but I don't think I'll switch from it to be honest.

And ah, right, the wife...I had more, but for some reason, the game was capturing the image with the text in it as well so they weren't very photogenic but here's the same scenes but retaken. Luckily I'm a freak and I saved before I got married. I was expecting a Red Wedding like event, to be honest. You never know with Warband. This game keeps surprising me.

The last time she sent me a letter and first time I knew she was into me.  :fruity:

And some screenshots not part of the wedding and the time some bandits attacked me and I obliterated them off the face of the planet. We've pretty much captured all of Sarleon, and Ravenstern just declared war on us. I'm so excited. I wanted to destroy them for so long. On my first play before this save (didn't like my first character), there was a lord there that kept raiding my tiny village. It was like he really hated me. Now I can get my revenge!

mb_warband_180503_1402317.png

I think these bandits were string beans in disguise. They were complete pushovers. Or maybe I'm just OP. xD

(yup, weapon of choice is a polearm + bow. I change to longsword usually when I'm on the ground and out of arrows or in close combat.)

As for the Snake Cult Stronghold, I haven't attacked it (yet) but that looks like a great spot to sit and shoot down a lot of foes.

Its all about the bow for the kills, the ruby rune bow(and 10 PD) will one shot nearly everything in the game. The only skillful part was all the dodging. Most siege defence battles you can use cover but on that one you have to be exposed to make a real impact.

Weird choice for a wife as her father is not very nice(pitiless) and from a roleplaying aspect I always like to get the father in law onside in my rebellion as soon as possible, so I tend towards the upstanding/goodnatured lords daughters.

The banner looks nice from what I could see maybe a better frontal shot of it.
I could never play PoP without a shield.

My wedding was a disaster as me and the jealous lord Othon got into an alcohol fueled brawl right before the start of the ceremony, it all ended in a blur with Sonadel being speeded away on Ceymor Hooves(my horse) to Ethos.
Well the the guests can't complain as I paid for it all.

The snakecult stronghold is not great for archery kills, the main reason to use that spot is so you can tell when all the good troops are dead so you can start the melee deathball.

That shield is a life saver.

I see! Well now I'm going to be searching like mad for that bow, as I've only come across the 'Noldor Composite bow, power draw lvl6' (using now) for the type you can use on and off horses (I prefer that kind) and a far weaker kind that you can't use on horses called 'Long Composite Bow, power draw lvl4' at the Laria marketplace. I'm still really terrible at this game (close combat related stuff at least), so I let my army handle that stuff, but I'll follow your example and start trying to get in there to start dodging more. It's an awesome thing PoP put training fields on the map, very smart and newb friendly decision there.

I just liked Lady Thera and her dad/brother, I guess. I didn't really mind if her father had no pity, they all seemed like honorable, strong folk. The other ladies were "easy" and a little annoying judging from the bard's descriptions, and for the lords, most of the them have their glaring issues, too, so the pickings were real slim. Also, my initial decision was to take over after getting their trust and to "RP" the idea that my character would change Pendor for the greater good. Besides, my character's besties with the king, so I'm in good standings. Maybe it'll be possible to just convince him and half the lords to give me the crown since they like me so much.

As for the banner, here are some more shots of it + some other images I was taking during a chase of the last Sarleon lords. The charge is too large on the armor, but oh well. The mail over it actually makes it look cooler, like it wasn't thought of as a design ahead of the mail placement...if that makes sense. Function > style, after all!

*if image 3 doesn't appear give it a few mins please. It is a straight view of the heraldic plate armor with the banner on it. If it doesn't appear, I'll re-edit with the URL. Imgur seems to be having trouble today and redefines URLs as wacky numbers and names.

It was 350+ vs 86 running Sarleon soldiers and a coward Duke Brennus. lol

Shortly after, we caught the king and I put him in my dungeon. About fifteen days later, Sarleon dissolved! Tomorrow I'll turn my sights to Ravenstern! OR maybe I'll spend time hunting Jatu warriors down to level up so I can get a bigger army. 200 isn't fun anymore. I want to ride over the hills with 300 now!

[size=8pt]I knew I didn't like Lord Othon, but now it sounds like he drove a wedge between you and your lady. Somehow the guy being jealous drunk makes perfect sense though. lol let an enemy fraction grab and hold him for a bit...that ought to make him a bit more friendly.

Ah, I see, well then now I'll be sure not to make the mistake of sitting there with my archers whenever I come across the stronghold.

I usually play these types of games with a shield, as I very rarely feel comfortable outside of a typical sword-shield role. My first save had that role and I was using it, but I felt like I was going nowhere mostly because I was completely new, so I redid my save with a different approach and it generated me with a spear. I fell in love with it during my arena matches and I haven't found the desire to move away from it much at all. I usually charge in with the spear, stick a few people, rush back, shoot the arrows with my archers and then charge in on foot with my infantry and pray to the gods I don't get shish-kebabed by some random. I do have two shields in my inventory, one from Sarleon with a boar's head on it that matches my character's house sigil (I thought cool, keep it) and then a heraldic shield kite. Both seem rather weak though, and the stronger ones are extremely expensive. I already have an expensive army and wife, can't afford adding armor to that just yet. lol

Well, with Sarleon dissolved, I freed all the lords that I had (which was most of them, since the other lords are incompetent despite their larger numbers) and the king so I could concentrate on Ravenstern, however, a far greater threat declared war on us...yes, that's right. The D'Shar Principalities. They have such large armies, and skilled archers and innumerable cavalry.  :ohdear:

Ah, a beautiful full moon!

It is pretty cool to spawn into a battle have have my archers form a line holding a hill and then slaughter the enemy while my infantry charges forward. It's so cool how simply charging ahead vs planing can make such a huge impact in a battle.

If you make that boar 50% smaller and keep it in the middle, then banner will be properly displayed on the shields and armours.

Yup, it certainly will, but unfortunately my vector art downscales terribly when I try it. I don't know if I'm just messing it up or if my vector art quality is to be blamed, but it turns out terribly with a proper scale.

*It looks so empty, as well. If only I could fit the proper lines on without it messing up it might just look really good at 50%. I'm gonna try it when I get PS to stop crashing. Note; they're a bit more oriented to the left or right than they should be, was just getting them centered for the icons.

If only there were a way to have the banners access a specific file and the armors/shields and icons over the heads of the soldiers to access specific files. Then the banners could be high quality and have larger charges without suffering quality loss. That would be extremely helpful.

I think I'll keep the 70% version though now. I'll just recenter it and adjust it a bit more so it centers on the armor.

Nice looking banner Judd.

Thanks! I've still got some better ideas of representing it (so it looks more historical) but I couldn't help but make it look a bit more...game-y, since this is PoP.

Now he can spend the rest of the battle in a very uncomfortable position.
Ouch! At least Oswald got pay back at the end.

It looks pretty good at 70%.

Melee deathball v Alaric and his drunken sots
zbYZuNN.jpg

Was doing envelopments but got bored and just let the deathball form.
Only had 100 men with me when he spawned and didn't have time to get more heavy infantry and ditch the archers and xbows.

I was distracted hunting down Wolfbode, that I let a mass of beserkers hit my army

Marius Imperator was leading the charge against Ithilrandir's forces and he showed who's boss, despite the odds

Funny is lore wise, he helped his Empire when it was in needs due the Snake Cult, and here he is, killing Noldor, the ones that helped him against the Snake Cult

Dirty Marius, so ungrateful with Ithilrandir, beloved by not only Noldors, but also many empire citizens (commoners mainly, nobles not so)

Game wise, even Ithilrandir can be the one sieging Empire cities, which doesnt fit him, but game is just based on the lore, not exact to it, as there are some limitations (i guess)

Yeah, it would fit more with Aeldarian, as he is an intolerant prick

Well he does have one of the best one handed weapons in the game.

How many javeling 1 shield can hold? I wound run out of strenght if my shield would hold 30 javelins.

That's hilarious  Did he stayed like that when he got knocked out or did you manage to capture that while he was falling?

He was mounted. If you stop the horse dead while the ragdoll falls off it freezes in that position. That happened there. You can produce quite a few funny poses that way.

Falling unconscious in the tavern of Ethos and ragdolling through the wall  (by the entrance at the bottom):

#Edit: Wow, and it's easily replicable, as you always fall through the wall if you jump from above!

Pretty sure that is rather frequent when enemy light cavalry (or such) get wasted by a volley of super Noldor bow PD10 Prof400+ CKO arrows.

A field of acrobats frozen mid-act.

Seems like you found the true ending of PoP.Seems like when the Oracle tried to find the possible outcome, where Pendor will be saved,he was looking for a village, that can loot days.Quite the plot twist.
