Looks like something's being done, and it's not the ******* of gaming that was Mechassault.
Check it out.
I'm just glad that it's not Mechassault, but I don't even know if it will be better than Mechwarrior: Living Legends.
I hope they give us the customization that MW4 had (at minimum) and hopefully add tanks and planes, or VTOLs. "What's the point of tanks in a Mech game?" you might ask. Well, tanks have 360 degree rotating turrets and they also have boatloads of armor, in the BT universe. For example, a Mad Dog might have 20 points of Center Torso armor while a Brutus, a sort of run-of-the-mill tank, would have upwards of 30 points of front side armor. They also typically carry a much heavier weapons loadout than a 'Mech played out for a similar role. Said Mad Dog is a Clanner Heavy, and it carries two LRM-20s and two medium pulse lasers, along with a couple of small pulse lasers I think. The Brutus is an Inner Sphere Heavy and has two large beam lasers, an LRM20 - these three weapons are mounted on the turret, making them much easier to use - two SRM6s and an SRM2 mounted on the front side. Tanks are quite useful in a long range slugout. Fast and annoying 'Mechs (the Arctic Fox comes to mind) do make jokes out of them, however, as soon as they run up behind them and shoot Inferno SRMs like the wankers they are.

What I don't understand is we they always fix something but make other thing bad.
Mech 2- PPC shoot was a blue ball, but AC worked and had sound like cannons. Also when you hit a Mech you could see pieces of armor flying
Mech 3- Lasers and PPC were great, but AC were like machine guns
Mech 4- No heat problems!! Happily they fixed it in Mercenaries.

Always did love the BattleTech universe. Hope they do a good job and actually make it to release.

Oh and I agree, I liked the idea of MechCommander, the game itself just wasn't that great. So we'll see.

Thanks for posting, OP.

You two up there yelling about consoles are clowns. It looks good. 'Mechs do not take way too long to kill (MW4), nor does it look fast-paced and arcadey, ala Mechassault. Most importantly, there seems to be a (hopefully forced) cockpit view. Knowing Piranha Games, they're going to develop it for the PC, taking a look at Gothic - it's not like Gothic ever branched off and received "console-itis" (much like Oblivion with Bethesda - I'm not a big TES fan so I'm not going to argue with you, quit PMing me).
It's also going to be an Inner Sphere only war. That's right, the trailer says 3015, that means before 3050 - the year the Clans invaded. Unfortunately, I can't pilot my precious Mad Dog, but I'm happy to give that up for a good Inner Sphere brawl, which is much nicer due to the variety of 'Mechs the IS produce. It's also arguably more balanced, though I don't really think so. The Clans pretty much only make one type of 'Mech, the long-range firepower type with no armor.

If you really want a full list, go to Chaos March, click "Clans of Kerensky" under Technical Readouts, and then click "'Mechs" for a full listing of the 'Mechs that won't possibly be in. Note that some of them might have different names, because the Inner Sphere have different callsigns for Clanner 'Mechs, and since almost every MW game takes place from the perspective of an Inner Sphere warrior, you probably won't recognize a lot of them unless you know a fair bit about Classic Battletech. The model names with "IIC" suffixing them are copied Inner Sphere designs, so don't worry about those. Some Clanner 'Mechs don't have an alternate IS callsign.

Of course, I'd wager the first expansion they produce will be a Clanner one.

I have a console, and console games are good on consoles. PC games are good on PCs.
Making games for both; or for one and then lazily porting, doesn't really work.
I'm not saying console games are bad, just that they as a rule less detailed and simpler. They have to be.

Regardless, I'll wait a while longer to judge this one, release isn't even guaranteed yet.

What's a Mad Dog?

What about the ultra heaviest one, I think it was.. Thor? The absolute tallest, heaviest one available?

Mad Cat?

Oh no, Elementals?

Oh and sorry I'm not checking the list, I just don't know that much about Battletech.

I'm a silly guy!
Yes you are! Luckily for you, silly guy, Chaos March's 'Mech listing is sorted by tonnage! So why don't you click on the "Inner Sphere" tech readouts for 'Mechs, look to your right under the "Assault" chassis, and scroll down to the "[100]" ton 'Mechs? There's only a few of them.

I'll even give you a hint; a visual hint!
