You have to sign up on the forums, after you do that you'll be whitelisted automatically. Though you can still hop on without registration as a guest to check it out.

When i join it either says "Outdated Server" or "End Of Stream"
How can i fix this?

Well do you still have the old pre-1.6 launcher? If you do you should be fine. If you deleted it then you're out of luck.

Or go to Minecraft.net and download the older patch which I just did and now it's working.

Registered, but I whenever I try to do anything, it a red message pops up in the chat saying I don't have permission even though I registered.
