I don't think "Kurwa" is an appropriate name for one of the top clans (who actually represent the game and the community to the outside) but in the end it's more important how the players in the team act than the name they chose. I also doubt that any sponsor will determine their sponsorship on the name of a single clan, it would probably not have any real impact on the decision.

In my opinion the competitive scene as a whole matters much more. How successful are the tournaments, how many teams and players attend, etc. Is it even worth sponsoring the game? What would a sponsor gain from helping out with prizes/money? There are some people who invest a lot of their time to create awesome tournaments but I guess they are doing their best already. There is not much to improve so it's up to the game itself to improve. Find a way to protect the servers a bit better and find a way to deal with people who are able to create endless keys to circumvent every ban. Make it harder or impossible to use cheats or modify your game in any way to gain an advantage.

If Bannerlord can fulfill the expectations the scene will grow very quickly and if it's possible to host tournaments like we do right now, then many will stay and play the game for a longer time. But I don't think that Warband can grow much more in it's current state even if you try to get sponsors.

I totally agree with Triari. As someone who has organised the main tournaments for over two years now I don't see much more potential the community itself could unlock. We can influence rulesets, certain moral standards and keeping up a decent amount of respect for each other - all things that an eSport needs. We had Razer as sponsor last ECS. Did it make Warband an eSport? No. A community does not attract new players. Nobody has ever bought a game because he or she knew it has a great community. That is the second step - keeping interessted players that just got into it. As the first step the game itself has to be interessting, and that is what will determine whether Bannerlord will make a big step or not.

I believe that people, who take this word as an insult should look at their own set of morals and values, since I personally believe that people who view a whore as something "bad" are dehumanizing a group of people who share a proper profession.

Honestly I didn't know this issue was about the whore part of it. Having "retarded" in the name is offensive no matter how you look at it.

No need to be salty, you call yourselves retard, so it's self-mockery. It is not the problem.

Regardless of what, the name is quite unprofessional and no matter how 'witty' or 'how you see it', how the general crowd perceives and thinks of it is what counts if you want to go towards a more competivive E-sport.

Whatever a few specific individuals or the team itself takes it is up for grab, but the fact that any clan name is enough to make a fuss is proof that it's a silly name (by all standards), and any player in the team should have no right to complain about that a streamer doesn't want to cast because of their unprofessional way of choosing a name. Even if some find it funny, it's not the point - the people who made the clan obviously don't respect other people's opinion enough, or feel like their opinion is above the others in worth (which once again points towards being silly and disrespectful).

And this is why it's wrong to consider "one's own opinion compared to others" rather than considering "others compared to one's own" - because the general crowd are the ones who judge, and also (unless one wants to be egoisticly not consider other people....) the ones who should be considered. Nobody should complain about the fact that the team chose the name, but the team should be ready to face the consequences for choosing a name others doesn't not like and makes them disrespect them. Take and recieve - if one doesn't want to consider others, it's only normal they'll at some point 'get it back to them' when things get more professional and goes towards more mature demand on behaviour. Doesn't matter how great and fantastic the people using the clan-name is (and I'll ofc not take away anything from any person in ***** when it comes to each person's personality and how nice each person is), it will still backfire at some point.

If I'd have to use a metaphor - it's basically like one's own sense in wine.

Also, fun to see a non-AE/*****/F match being streamed and actually feeling hyped. Though it would've been even more fun to watch FTW vs IR, 9-9! Or the IG match, though it's very sad to see Sith having to leave the tournament :ohdear:

I think the disparity between the views that the BRO Channel received and the views that MB_TV received, despite MnBComp's hostility towards promoting our match, goes far enough to tell you what bystanders think.

In any case, no need to derail Lust's thread any longer, he knows our position, he knows that people want to watch KURWA and he knows that the community disagrees with him. Nothing else needs to be said.

From the perspective of a new player there's a lot that can be improved. It's hard as **** to follow this community, you have to lurk these forums hard to even know when there's gonna be a stream (doesn't help that everything is divided into 23453453 sub forums/threads). There's almost no mention of the competitive scene in the sub reddit or any marketing at all (videos and stuff). Facebook page is abandoned too.

On the playing side of things it's not much better, the game has a steep learning curve and everyone is super good already. Kinda limited availability of game modes due to dwindling community, but I guess these can't really be helped much.
