Since the MP addon is coming up I was thinking of gameplay modes to make up the lack of campaign gaming.

Why not add a sort of dota gameplay?

Its basically the same as siege, only that both sides attack.
Players should start at lvl 10, minions should start at tier 1 or 2 and slowly upgrade if bought, so that you can in the end like add 1 swadian knight to the reinforcement spawn (already ingame too). Im just not sure how to deminish the winner in this engine right now.

Imagine the hegemony mod for that...adding fast hoplites by the time, and later phalangites. skirmishers with heavy throwing spear dmg, all that stuff...i think it would be loads of fun. no need for magic, but you can add an item shop if that will be possible by the time were you can buy items specially made for the gameplay...like boots of speed (athletics), gloves of attack dmg, armor of regeneration or weapons of life leech and stuff. but if that "fantasy" stuff would be kept out it would also be really fun.
Leveling would need to go faster i think. oh, and disable infinite corpses :wink:

battle size should be diminished in the game lobby, to determine the size of the spawns.

It would be a lot of coding, but i think it might be worth it.
 
To deminish the winner you could place a "king" in each sides fortress wich needs to be killed. Add simple "barrack" buildings were units spawn inside (so you dont see armies just spawn out of nowhere), make a few forests, rivers and bridges for the map, also paths that AI wont go like small alleyways in towns or sth...

Maybe give the player the ability to buy mercenaries wich fight for him in addition to the non-controllable "creeps" so the player has his own men in addition. Keep it low, max 8 mercenaries I'd say is best.

Maybe one could make several versions of the same map template, just to give the possibility of battles between all factions (or the most probably fighting against each other ones - like rome/carthage etc. In these maps just exchange the "fortress"..like a pyramid for ptolemaioi (or something more authentic :wink:  ) roman villas, german longhouses or similar- just to get the idea)

Imagine how epic the moment when you have nearly won and fight up the steps to the throne room with your already weakened allies, and finally cut down the enemy ruler...

I think it would truly add to the entire game.
 
Aye, agreed, that would be uber epic. Also, a desert map with a river going down the middle, and two villages on either side, each with either a) a actual fortress or b) a palace-like enclosure. Several bridges would span the river, and maybe a ford or two further down the river, for the player and his mercenaries to use for a flanking attack. So it would be a epic combination between river battle, urban warfare, besieging castles, and some field action in the farms, oasis's, and desert.
 
have you posted this in the multiplayer suggestion?
Its an awesome idea, not only for hegemony.
