Massive performance issue in the world map

Hello everyone, first time posting here. I've recently installed the Native Expansion mod, and I've encountered a problem when I try to play it.

Basically, the entire world map is lagging a lot, with massive fps drops only on the campaing map. I've also encountered problems of crashing to desktop if I try to accelerate the game a la ctlr + space. So far I've tried searching both google and this board trying to see if someone has a similar problem but I only found one post in the steam forums that had no solution nor cause. Is this an uncommon issue?

I have been playing for 500 game days with no troubles, maybe reinstall? Also you should find the siege tower fix on this board since it is not included in the main download
