Massive fps drop in melees... sometimes

I am suffering from this reoccurring problem where i go from 60-70 fps to 5-10 stutter fps in larger melees. Just had one where it was a battle of 40 vs 90 and the enemy cavalry charged into me (about 30-40) and I went from great fps to stutter fps... is this a problem that can be fixed simply by disabling some feature in video options?

Battle stutter in Warband tended to disappear if you disabled blood. Considering WFaS is a patched Warband engine, I would assume this might help here too.

thanks i will try it when it occurs again, like i said, not every bigger battle is stutter
