Marriage Annullment?

Can you get married only once, or can you annul a marriage when you think it advantageous?
Its just the romantic in me asking...

No, I think you're stuck.
Someone posted a while ago about how their spouse was exiled from all the factions one by one (becoming "exiled outside calradia" and therefore totally useless) and the marriage still stood. Nobody could figure out a way to get out of the marriage or get the person back. At least you're not in THAT position

*Raises hand* That be me, my dear!

Unfortunately, you're a bit stuck. xD Only one marriage no no annulments.

Well, I have not tied the knot yet, fortunately, because though "my valor and beauty is admired" my character is not "feminine" enough for those prigs!
I guess I have to conquer them the old fashioned way and then have my way with them...

However, should I decide to pursue someone after all, how is a female warrior to succeed if by virtue of being strong she is less desirable?

Divorces in medieval times were very rare. Amount of crap you would have got back then was just too much to handle. If, it would virtually destroy your relationship with just about everyone it would be ok, but we need lovers. Wifes/men were just for making children etc. and lovers for relationships.

Oh and multiple wifes for those who follow sarranids.

I'd like the whole women's standing-thing to be reworked in this game. In the authentic eurasian medieval society, women may have been confined to quarters, sure. But Calradia isn't Eurasia. There never were such a culture as the Rhodoks. They could just as easily invent a society with gender equality. That'd be better in my eyes, as it's rather pointless for a male character to marry at all now. All you get is another piece of furniture in your castle (your wife). I'd much rather have her running about in the field with me.

You serious? I haven't played the Sarranids much yet since their cav is apparently OP.

No, it's just a suggestion. The idea is based upon the fact that the Sarranids seem to be Arabian/Islamic based and thus might allow a man to have multiple wives. But seeing as how there isn't really any religion in the game, I don't seem the developers adding this feature in. Plus it would require family dynamics (such as they are) to be redone.

Too bad there's not a conversation option for Klethi to head out in the black of night and annul the marriage for you.

Sig-worthy.

Maybe someone could set things up so you send your spouse to a monastery/convent.

The Khergit seem to keep harems at least, based on Dustum Khan's text.

I've found it quite easy in my newest save game. Just get your renown and honour up, get your charisma up and you should have no problem. A man who refused my proposal in my previous save is now my husband.

Ok thanks, I thought as much and those are qualities I am working on also to talk lords on to my side; not sure about the honor though since I loot villages by necessity does that not affect your honor rating badly?
About the husband, so I heard people respond that wife's are useless and you don't gain anything by them; are the husbands any different? I thought marriage was supposed to get you political and power ties?

Regarding raiding villages... I honestly don't know, it's not something I do. Sorry D:

Regarding the husband, there's not too much to be gained by it at the moment. You can have a feast still (but it's harder to put together, because both you and hubby have to be in a hall inside a castle or something), but it's expensive. Other than that I don't really see much else.
