Hi All,
First let me share that I love the M/B seriies which has forced me to close all my subs in MMO's and 3 of my old freinds have done the same. I did M/B, warban and after this outstanding community worked with me I am playing the mods. I am old and PC playing snice retirement from the military in '93. That means I have to learn all the PC stuff that my generation did not get to learn while growing up. To wit; I am shocked that this company has not expanded the game and taken over the gaming world.

My question: I have been playing PoP now for about a week cursing/laughing/crying during my experience, I like to learn the ropes on my own which my friends have indicated that "i am into pain".  Along the way I have purchused maps and I am lost in the process of learning more of what I bought. I have looked in my inventory and all the tabs regarding the use/implimentation/objectives of these maps without success. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to their use?

The maps do not show up in your inventory because they point to 2 static chests in 2 towns, namely Valonbray and Rane. Take a walk around the town streets and you should find them.

Another type of map tells you of a bandit hideout near a village, in that case you ahve to write down the name of the village (its not recorded anywhere) and then scout around it a bit. You should see a cave.

Edit: There will be something called a Qualis gem in a couple of the chests, DO NOT under any circumstances sell the gem to a shop. You can either try to discover its uses by yourself, or read about it in one of the million threads about it here

oK so im old, can you give me a hint where I can find info on it? And I captured a king in the process, any recommendations on what to do with the man?

Either drop him in your dungeon if his kingdom is giving you pain or ransom him for mucho muny.

The two maps you may purchase for a treasure are located in Rane and Valonsbray. Upon each purchase for 200 denarii, they´re filled with various loot. You can fill them continously and repeatedly. Be careful not to overdo it though as once the chest is filled it´s content gets overwritten and you lose stuff.

The two hidden chests are easy to spot, simply enter the towns and keep left. Watchout carefully, they´re a bit hidden. Information about it is revealed by either the mighty search bar (use creative analysis to acquire what you´re looking for), the FAQ, or the old wiki´s which are linked in the FAQ.

Coo, got the chest and the king ransom, very sweet pay off,,,covers my rent. I guess I could be more specific asking questions, I was talking about the jewel or jem one gets. I got it and this dude or was it a dudett? Nevertheless, they offered a map of a cave, is that the only use of the jem?
Again thanks for the response and the welcome aboard, been having a ball with the game and community, btw or topic at the local VFW about the games have provided us with some funny looks.
