I am having some trouble getting an .obj map exported to map.txt.

Solved
See Edit 4 for solution.

This is mainly, because none of the .obj to map.txt converters seem to work for this map:
-importing to Thorgrim's Editor, everything is grey, meaning all textures are gone (Update: grey was caused by wrong swapping of Y and Z axis. Now it shows only water material.)
-Tul's .obj to map.txt converter produces gibberish, similar to what some other people posted in that thread with high exponential's.
-The java version based on Tul's converter used to work on other maps, but with this map nothing happens, I double click, but it is, as if I clicked on empty space. However, this is the first time, that the java converter fails me, on any other .obj it works fine.
-othr's converter doesn't seem to work properly for me, it produces a neat-looking map.txt, but m&b just crashed on loading.

These are the steps, which I have used to work with the map so far:

-Created new map in Thorgrim's Editor
-Exported as .obj
-Imported .obj in Wings 3D
-Covered the map with 4 materials: deep_ocean, ocean, desert and plain
-Exported as .obj with Triangulation, Swap Y and Z-axis with scale set to 1,0, as well as export normals and export uv coords ticked

At this point, I tried reimporting to Thorgrim's Editor, as well as converting directly. But it just doesn't work, as described above. I also renamed the materials for othr's converter to deep_ocean_x, etc.

It seems, that I must be missing something fundamental here. Any hints as to what that might be?

Any help is appreciated.

Edit 1:
Found one bummer: the map was exported vertical.
However, exporting to map.txt still doesn't work and Thorgrim's Editor views the .obj as if it has no materials whatsoever.

Edit 2:

After more fiddling around, I noticed, that I forgot to swap Y and Z coordinates while importing the .obj into Wings3D. Therefore, I also tried exporting the map without swapping Y and Z, but to no avail. Now Thorgrim's Editor loads the .obj, but covers everything with water.

Those import/export settings are confusing me. Does importing/exporting without swapping Y and Z coords give the same result as importing/exporting with swapping Y and Z?

Edit 3:
It looks, as if Wings3D doesn't export the materials. Any height changes are shown in Thorgrim's Editor, but every face is simply covered with water, even though I assigned different materials in Wings3D. For this, I made another new map in Thorgrim's Editor, then
-exported as .obj
-imported into Wings with swapped Y and Z-axis
-Covered faces with materials (deep_ocean, ocean, desert, plain)
-exported as .obj (tried all possible combination's of swapped/unswapped axis, export normals & export uv's). However, the only time Thorgrim's Editor doesn't crash on loading the .obj is with swapped axis, and export normals&uv's ticked)

Here are two screenshots of the situation:

Does anyone know, what I am doing wrong?

Edit 4:

Well, I just noticed, that after turning one face in a hole, the java converter works again. Thorgrim's Editor now crashes on loading the .obj (Invalid mesh: missing uv or normal), but at least, it can load the map.txt, so that towns, etc. can be moved around.

So yeah, mission accomplished.  :D
