i ended up with a .zip file, with 'rar' as the suffix: i couldn't find it when i ran winzip ?  thanks

it hasn't been compressed using winzip so its a different file format (not a .zip file) and you'll need to use winrar.

You were showing some promise when you started your last thread with some lower case letters. What went wrong?
I haven't used winrar in ages so I'm not sure what all it can do but what I use is 7-zip. Its free and it can decompress pretty much every form of compressed file you can find.

You can use either:

WinRAR
http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

or
http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

Both are superior to Winzip and are similar programs. WinRAR is shareware (Everytime you run it, there will be a nag window that tells you to pay money, but the program is still fully usable.) while 7zip is freeware.
