What's the benefit of making manor houses in villages? does it give some kind of bonus or is it just first stage of making the village into a castle?

Enter there, find the meister and ask him to pay you taxes in goods. Than weekly visit it agin and collect all goods to sale. If you want you can fortify your first manor - make it like a small city. Read here for particulars http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,200449.0.html

yeap that is what I meant, after you have your fortified manor etc, you have the option to build manors in other villages, is there some kind of bonus for having manors in villages or is it "just" the first step on way to making it into a castle?

Now understood. It shold be the other your simple manor, but it has the bug http://code.google.com/p/dev1257/issues/detail?id=73
Castle you can build from your first village, near your fortified manor. Here and below http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,200449.msg5560605.html#msg5560605

A bit confused on this one.

Does this mean once I build my first fortified manor that I will lose all tax revenue and control of any other villages? Or just the additional building outside of the village?

Or is it if I try and build an additional fortified manor from a building near a village when I have already built a fortified manor somewhere else it will then cause tax income not to work for the new fortified manor I tried to build? Does it break income in just the one location or everywhere else?

If I build a fortified manor and then dont try and build another somewhere else should I still get all the tax income from other villages\buildings?

I really like the fortified manor but if its going to cause me not to get tax income from other villages\buildings I might wait a while in hope that the bug gets fixed.

Thanks.

No. The villages taxes will be fine. You will loose control on all their manors outside villages

You can build only one fortified manor near your first village. All other manors near your other villages can't be fortified

This is a correct way. Build one fortified manor and not build any other manors - waste the money. You will get abt 8000 profit from fortified manor goods, and taxes from all your villages.

So what about existing manors already attached to fiefs that I get? Building a fortified manor will cause me to lose control of all existing manors in any other fiefs I control correct?

Is it worth it then to build the one fortified manor? What do you lose from not being able to control a manor?

thanks for the feedback, I just started fortifying a manor in my game and I want to do it correctly.

Most probably - yes. But I don't sure on 100%, as in my case was that I fortified my first manor, after that I got other villages and found their manors uncontrolable.

Yes. One fortified and whole builded (abt 80000din) than weekly will give you goods on total price abt 8000din. You should give the order for all inside to give you taxes in goods, then weekly come here and take it for sale

You loose their weekly taxes in goods. Visit your simple manor. Ask meister to pay you taxes in goods, then weekly ask him again and take it for sale. If you build the fortified manor the maister will speak with you as with some stranger, not as with his lord. You will not be able to receive the weekly goods from all other your manors. As example: One hunter manor gives you 3 furs weekly that you can sale for 1200din. So 7 manors will give you same profit as one fortified and no need to invest there abt 80000 dinars for buildings.
But in fortified manor all goods you can collect in one place, you will have the monestry there with tamplar knights, you can sale the prisoners, you can employ the troops that wil;l escort you and... may be I forget something else. So you can choose to build or not to build...

If you tell the winer and brewer (maybe also the oil guy) to pay you in goods, don't sell them goods but use them to improve the relationship with your fellow lords or the lords of your own kingdom (talk to the chancellor if you own a city and send caravans to improve relationship with every person you like). I have used it this way (in almost every game), have a kingdom of 12 cities and 13 castles right now, have promoted 16 of my companions to lords and am at a relationship of 98-100 with everyone of them, despite having declared war on 6 different factions, often withouth reason, during the last 4 months and also compensated the relation loss for handing out fiefs with this.

As a new player but avid reader of these boards, I just wanted to put out a quick thanks to all the useful information that is on here, especially oroboros and alekskoles. Also thanks to the whole mod team for such a fun mod!
