Sometimes i chance upon a battle that has 2 enemies, why cant i join in and beat the crap out of them both, a free for all?

and it always says

Tactical Advantage: 0 (the situation is balanced)

Dont get involved



Dumb, becuase it says its balanced when the caravan has 4 men left and the dark kmnights number 50, balaced my foot.

Is it like an AI thing thats complicated? Is that why we cant do free for alls?

Would be kind of interesting to have me and the dark knights meet in te center, then all the viegar veterans come in to the mix....

I could be wrong, but by my observations Tactical Advantage does't seem to actually correspond to relative strength, but merely a comparison of "Tactics" skills. Since NPCs all have the same "Tactics" skill level every meeting engagment they have will be "balanced".

I htought it had to do with the alliances in the game. Ie you can't join a battle between two factions who are hostile toards you. . .

I've never come across a battle that says 'the situation is balanced' when I'm allied or at least non-hostile to.

yea, i can join a battle with may allies, but say that my enemy (Viegar) is fighting forest bandits, i want to be able to join ni an have a free for all

Also you cant join if both are friendly with you
EX: Swadian Caravan vs Vaegir War Party.

I just managed to join a battle between a Swadian Patrol and mountain bandits, while serving in the army of the Vaegir... so whatever it is that causes this phenomenon, it's not as simple as just the alliances...

jackx, were there 3 groups fighting eachother or did the swadian side with you?
