What kind of characters do you play? I started a female character once (out of maybe twenty). I don't have any reason not to, but I think this could be an interesting poll.

Yep, I'm almost male too

Uhh yeah, I mostly play male, usually squire. Merchant gets a ****load of money but hey, you can make quite nice $$$ with riverpirates anyway.

Meh. I rarely play female characters. Except I once played a character called Xena in Arcanum. She had leather armor, a sword, and a chakram. I still don't know how I thought of that one, one of my most original characters ever

I usually play as a woman. I think that the whole chick archer thing is pretty cool *zing!*

Started a female character at first, to continue the RP storyline of an RPG character I had created years ago that was a paladin. In the beginning I thought M&B was a sword&sorcery type game. Didn't know it was a semi-historical simulation/RPG.

Wasn't into the female character model (too male like) was really hoping for something similar to Joan of Arc's character model. While the body isn't bad, the upper arms/upper torso was almost indistinguishable from a male. Even with a dress it looked awkward (like a man in a dress). The face wasn't too enticing either as I wasn't really able to recreate some of the art I have of the RPG character.

I felt more at home and more immersed by re-starting as a male nobleman (seems more fitting/historically accurate anyhow).

regards!

I always end up playing females -- the male facial textures all look rather unpleasant, and too old. This is the 15th century; why can't we have male characters in their early 20s or so?

They have different starting stats and different goods they are carrying.
OTOH, at the rate you level up, the difference doesn't last for long.
