Male Circumcision - why still legal?

Decent enough chance of complications doesn't count?

Sure. However, current research suggests that the risk is less than the benefits.

Undiminished sexual pleasure

Again, this claim just isn't supported by the the evidence.

These posts should give you a start regarding my position. The evidence may be a little dated since these posts are from 2011, but to my knowledge, both the CDC, the WHO and the AAP all acknowledge that the medical benefits from circumcision (albeit small) are greater than the risks (which are even smaller).

So why can't a informed being make that decision for himself?

The benefits are peanuts compared to the side effects.

This isn't like being born with some sort of burden, like a cist or cancer.

The surgery is 100% unnecessary.

Its a case of "If its not broken don't fix it".

Same here. Those sneaky jews didn't get around to cutting my ****.
Seriously, though, not circumcised and I wouldn't want a child of mine to be. Unless if it's done for health reasons, of course.

You do realize that I don't despise my parents because of this right?

Secondly I never claimed to be traumatized, in fact I said the reverse.

It was all sarcasm. I said on page 2 that it's more practical for the patient to be circumcised while an infant because then the stress of it is never remembered, and apparently Llandy believes that through the miracles of modern medicine having surgery performed on your penis at a more advanced age is something you could just lightly shrug off.

My parents had my older brother circumcised. While it was being done, they decided not to do the same with future children. Glad for it.

I'm not ruling out the possibility of further depth to the "reduces cancer chance" argument, as I really don't care, but I also find it amusing to think that the amputation of any body part reduces the risk of cancer.

I'm wondering why so many people are misusing the word "amputation".

I am speaking of arms and legs. Also:

"To cut off (a projecting body part), especially by surgery"

I amputate my hair all the time.

Considering that amputation generally refers to the removal of a body extremity, one could indeed use it to describe the process of circumcision.
