I think if a person already has the Digital Companion in their library and it has been downloaded, it should be possible for them to access it even if they are currently running an earlier version of the main game (or at least every version of the post release, 1.0.0 and 1.0.1). I think how this could be done depends on the platform a player is running the game on. I am not really sure what the best approach for this would be...I am not sure a mod would be appropriate in this instance. Maybe it could be listed separately in the library of every platform with a stand-alone launcher? I suppose the earlier versions of the game could also be updated so that the main launcher has the area for it like the current version, if that wouldn't break anything for people using the earlier versions.
