Making peace too soon

I'm in my first play through and joined the Southern Empire. It seems like the other nobles are voting for making peace too soon, regularly. Several times we have come close to completely killing off a faction, and then peace is called for. By close, I mean that there is maybe a town and one or two keeps left. Peace then gets broken when the faction amasses enough troops to take another city. After taking those back, peace gets called again. We have plenty of strength and while it did occur once while we were being attacked by others, so I can see why they might want to reserve strength against a bigger threat, but it's also happened when we are not at war with anyone else. Maybe it's a couple of flukes, but I'm wondering if there is a problem with the AI with calling it like that.
Anyone else have this issue?

When the small enemy declares war and attacks a town YOU go siege their other town! Also having multiple small week faction is better then just a few huge factions IMO.

I had a thing where the Vlandians (us) kept making peace immediately with the Northern Empire when they only had a single castle left. I'm wondering if it's something to try and prevent factions from being wiped out too quickly. Maybe after a certain amount of time has passed your faction will just wipe them out as normal, or someone else will do it.

Yeah, I'm doing that. I've played a lot of Warband, so I'm pretty familiar with that aspect of things. The issue though is that we're literally one castle/keep/etc away from killing them and peace gets declared, every single time.

I guess it's the response to the earlier 'snowballing' that had many ppl write threads about how quickly the wars ended with one winner (in the early days, most times SE or Khuzaits).

The perpetual peace is arguably better than the perpetual wars of earlier patches, but it could definitely use some tweaking still to find an even better balance.

Proposing wars isn't always an option since it cost a bit of influence and often times have low chance of approval, like 8-10%. And the peace last a long time, like 200+ days? Which is like a life time in BL.

In my last game the Vlandians would declare peace every time I was being too sucvessful at taking enemy towns. It took us five wars to capture most of Battania. Some of those wars only lasted three days!

Yeah this is quite frustrating. Playing as a vassal again and every time I start getting the upper hand on a warring faction, our king declares peace, usually while I'm mid-siege.

Same for me, and they open war immediately after making peace. I wonder if this is a feature
