Making AI lords pay troop wages

I want to make simple change to Warband such that AI lords and towns/castles actually pay troop wages. The idea being economic damage has actual consquences. So when villages are looted it actually hurts them instead of being minor nuisence.

Can anyone point me to where to look for this info ?

Don't know enough to give you the answer but I will point out, from a lot of experience modding other games, that changes to the AI's economics generally come with a lot of unintended consequences.  The game can't make rational decisions about how to spend money effectively so leveling the playing field with the player in this respect can cripple an AI faction quite easily. In a game like this, with very basic game economics where the AI factions aren't paying for units at all, this would likely be severe.

What makes you think that they don't pay wages?
What happens is that every 24 hours they reinforce up to wage-paying capacity in script_hire_men_to_kingdom_hero_party. If you played Warband you may have noticed the small parties of fiefless lords.

It's recruiting cost. Once the troops re recruited by the AI lords, they have no wage.

Hm... you are right. It does work well enough, though, making poor lords reinforce slowly, or lords with no money/fiefs to not reinforce at all.
If there is a change from reinforcement cost to wage cost, then they would need bigger fief income to balance that.
From a design point of view, there's no need for that, looks like busywork. The lords' advantage is only towards the player, you might as well simply reduce player wages instead of rebalancing lord income or making them too weak to do anything of substance.
