Then even 500 gb isn't enough. (Although, I've read a research somewhere stating that there isn't as much porn as thought on the net.

That's probably true, its usually just the same porn cycled over and over.(that's just my experience)

Indeed, there is only three videos and a few dozen pictures of nakkid womenz. Most of the few terratbytes is copies of these videos and pictures.

That's changing, with the advent of user-content sites. It won't be long until they come to pornography, if they already haven't.

Anyway, that could be awesome - with the advent of these discs, we could archive all scientific, cultural, and historical knowledge, as well as literature, in hundreds of "safe vaults" around the world, in multiple languages, so that those who survive a civilization-ending experience will be able to slowly rebuild. Honestly, that was my first thought.

This technology is sounding damn close to a holograph-machine. Methinks in the near future we will finally have those floating 3D images we've seen in such entertainment films/shows like Star Wars, Star Trek and other stereotypically nerdy shows.

If you remember from "The Day the Earth Stood Still" they have a clip with a 3D image, created with a Windows machine. Pretty nifty, not to mention great product placement.

 the first half of that film was a MS product showcase, they really went overboard, so blatent!

I wouldn't think you would so much install a game that large rather then play straight from disk. And if internet service stays the same, a 500gb game is the best anti-pirate tool you can make.

To be completely factual and boring; about one percent of the internet is porn.
Which ameks me wonder what is on the other 99%. Considering how much porn there is (even if it is recycled quite often). And how much of that does 99% anyone actually look at?

Depends if your talking about size or about number of pages. A video is likely to be orders of magnitude larger than a simple website, but its only one page, while a website is a collection of them.
