Make war make more operational and strategic sense

Perhaps some sort of targeting can be tied to Army formation....which would give some sort of purpose and priority. It could act as another layer in the decision making algorithm.
 
War feels kind of arbitrary at the moment and very rarely are there moments of full peace. The AI should value peace time once it is running around with bunches of recruits.
The Lord AI could use some variation - sometimes they should decide to clear fiefs of looters/bandits with a manhunter type half-size/reduced party especially if they are just building a new army. Much like us players train up troops for war - so should the AI lords.
The raiding mechanics are frustratingly annoying and the downward spiral effects on your bound settlements is a real pain. A nice feature would be the ability to aid the rebuilding of a village - donate men, tools, materials and food to get them back on their feet. I imagine that Party commands and the ability to designate companions will help with village protection considerably. At the moment they are kind of helpless burdens. Perhaps weak villages should have their citizens run to the nearest castle to escape a raid,,,like in real life this was one of the main functions of a castle. They then return to village after raid and are not starting from rock bottom.
