Make my character!

NJSQRL

Sergeant at Arms
Even when I play with different weapons (spear only was kinda fun) I always use the same basic build...even in the beginning setting up the character.

Always a impoverished noble or a veteran warrior, always served as a page, always either a squire or a university student... I almost always go one or two handed sword/axe and use either thrown (at higher levels) or use crossbow.

I want something new but cant make up my mind so I am going to let you people do it for me!

Male or Female?
Character Name: (its time I start a new one)
Father was:
As a child:
After that:

Now for the interesting bit....

Character type? (IE melee'r, horse archer, ect....)
Weapon set? (I will seek out whatever I can get as early as possible meaning even a low quality...)
Faction?
Armor set?

** Note ** Anything along the lines of a axe slingin Nord will likely be dismissed as that is business as usual for me.

Rhodok commoner foot soldier? No horses, one handed weapon with a board shield, a good polearm, and for sieges you switch one of those for a (siege) crossbow and a bag of large bolts. Equipment for you and your companions limited to what Rhodok troops wear. Don't ever use other troops than Rhodoks or Mercenaries.

That is pretty much the one I just abandoned earlier this week...

Balanced War Spear + Board Shield + Military Pick

Only difference is I used throwing spears instead of a crossbow.

Light cavalry. No armored horses, no heavy armor. A leather covered round shield, perhaps a scimitar and a spear (or lance). Same equipment for your buddies. The goal here is speed (and vulnerability  ). I've had a great time playing this character.

Go nords!
Grab some decent armor, a strong shield (huscarl shield) and a good axe also take some throwing javalins or throwing axes and let the fun begin.

Blead did you even read the OP?

Male or Female: Male
Character Name: Something Scottish
Father was: A Veteran Warrior
As a child: A Steppe Child
After that: A Game Poacher

Character type: Melee footman
Wargear set: Greatsword or Sword of War eventually. A Hunting Bow if you wish. Anything up to a Hauberk and a Guard Helmet.
Faction: Use only mercs and see my suggestion at the bottom.

Now for MY interesting bit....
Mod in a replacement Hired Blade with the same equipment.  Enjoy taking over the world as a Scottish Highlander.

Pheonix... as odd as it may sound.... I have already done that once lol.

Well sorta.. did it in the original M&B and made a few "tweaks" to the recruiting prisoners stuff then replaced all the bandit parties with a custom unit... the Highlander.

But I shall consider doing it again, if not all the way into the modding bit then at least a Merc army (god that is going to cost some serious denar...)

And if I am going highlander... shouldnt I be able to use rocks?

I did but then I went all Nords on the thread.

Male or Female: Male
Character name: Sanji / Leowinn / Cliff / Donarr / Wodan / Theodus.
Father was: veteran warrior
As a child: street orphan
after that: worked as a smith/shop apprentice (wait is that a option?)

Character type:
Melee footman

Gear:
Decent armor (no plate) and huscarl helmet!
Huscarl shield/ heavy round shield
A good axe (1h)
throwing weapons (throwing axes or javalins)

Faction: Nords as a marshall of Lethwin farseeker (So rebel!)

** Note ** Anything along the lines of a axe slingin Nord will likely be dismissed as that is business as usual for me.

Yep that's completely different isn't Blead?

I'm sorry I'm giving you a hard time. Just in that sort of modd I suppose.

Could always try what I call my 'Commander' build;

Sex: Male
Character name: Whatever you want
Father: Travelling Merchant
Child: Apprentice
After that: Uni Student

Starting stats:
Str: 7
Agi: 5
Int: 9
Cha: 9

Why? You start off with a decent Int & Cha which gives you a good headstart for levelling up 'commander' skills such as Trainer, Leadership, Prisoner Management, Inventory Management, Path-finding, Tactics & so on. You have 'enough' strength to be alright in melee but thats not what you should be doing. With regards to Agi, shove it up a few points to get 'Looting' & 'Riding' to level 3 - more loot is ALWAYS good and having a decent ride skill will allow you to quickly traverse the battlefield to understand whats going on (I prefer doing that over the battlemap for 'immersion' I suppose - put myself more into the role of a commander).

A good commander ideally never unsheaths a weapon - their troops are their sole armament and this is what I tried to centre this build around. To get the best organisation out of this you will have to designate different soldiers to different groups (and rename them to something that makes sense to you). So when you press '1' you know you're talking to your elite infantry guard, or '3' for your horse archers, or '9' for your Crossbowmen. You get the idea.

The big downside of this build is you are not concentrating on levelling your melee attributes such as Power Strike and so on, which makes tournaments and having to fight on the battlefield a lot, lot tougher BUT! challenge is its own reward.

I know u wrote no vikings anymore but mayby berserker?

male
-veteran warrior
-street urchin
-smith
-looking for vengance

gear
-nord warlord helmet
-armor:none
-foot- some foor/leather shoes
-leather gloves
-two handed axe/ heavy long axe

All points you put in strenght, some in ag/ no points in int nor char. Max power strike, iron flash, athletics.

At least it'd be some challenge to play such char

Spec for a leader invsting heavily in leadership, charisma, trainer, healing etc. all support skills. you will wear regal armour. So If you playing sarranids, no mamluke armor  you wear teh robes etc. same if your playing as swadians (basically  no metal just noblemen style.) Also you are only allowed a one handed sword, no shield. Maybe if you get bored of giving orders a bow but basically you sit your butt in the back and tell everyone what to do.

A new era is  dawning. Long gone are the days or pompous AI and reasonable players, NOw even teh player will be pompus.

sex: female

?

Light armour, only bow profiency and 1h prof. 1h sword, 2 arrow bags

Robin Hood style

Heavy plate armor, no socks, throwing shoes.

Shoe style.

Whats the name of that journalist again?

So far I see a highlander and a leader type roll...

I admit the leader seems a little...boring but at the same time it interest me..

If any other ideas I will keep checking till tomorrow afternoon

i would reccomend getting a flag type weapon as well so that you carry a flag (may need to be modded in, basically take a spear and add a flag too it, so its only the look that changes) and a sword. think of it as an oppurtunity to  test warbands tactic system to the limit
(you never know what you can do with i think 10-11 groups and the leisure to take the time to command and organize them
