Make Armors more effective optional to the players.

There's a mode in Nexus that can make armor more effective and I think the dev team can easily add this to "Gameplay" tab as slider. Here's the link from that mod. (I'm not sure if its against the forum rules, but it seems there's no rules about MOD promotion).

Adding this to gameplay settings give players more control how they want to the armors more effective. Players can set their armor effectiveness from 1 to 2.5, 1 is native value. So the armor calculation will look like this.

Armor Native value * Armor modifier = Total armor
examples:
10 x 2 = 20
20 x 2 = 40
30 x 2 = 60
40 x 2 = 80
50 x 2 = 100
Then from that, damage calculation will follow. So simple math, lower armor value will get little improvement while high armor value will get a huge defense boost.

It's very simple, friendly user, optional feature, but can make a huge difference in combat.

I hope we get more love on this suggestion. I think many players are longing for this setting feature.
We have a rather nice "upgrade-curve" on weapons, we should have the same for armour. Now it feels like we spend tens of thousands for nothing when upgrading the last 2-3 tiers of armour. The same investments on weapons are far more worth it IMO.

I have found your best friends are:
1. A REALLY fast horse
2. The hardest hitting MOFO weapon you can get to blitz with
3. Ride boy, ride!

Hard to die if they cant hit you to start with because when a rock can blow your head off or you get TKO from peasant infantry with 25 damage weapons...

Speed and range are your friend because here is the hard truth about armor: You are a warhammer 40k Imperial Guardsman with a flashlight and a cardboard box for armor. Your most basic opponent is a raging Khorn Berserker. He has friends. Lots of friends. They have bolters. You dont.

even tier 3 sword can easily take down tier 5-6 armor. This shows easily the ineffectiveness of native armor

There should be a realistic armor setting at least for single player, armor if tough and what set the Romans up so well for success (along with tactics) but when you really think about battles, attrition of damage plays a major part. The battle of Stanford bridge is a perfect example of this in history. After the battle of Fulford Harald Hardrada thought that the Saxons were going to surrender so the Norse did not take their armor to negotiate because it was a rather hot day and they were not aware of the Saxon army marching up from the South. Godwinson showed up with Saxons in full battle dress and destroyed the Norse as they were slaughtered without armor even though the armies were about even in numbers and in skill.
