Make Allied Lords Help

I'm the Marshal for the Kingdom of Nords, and I always start a campaign, get a couple of lords to follow me around and then find that none of them actually join in my sieges. How do I get them to?

Are they running off to chase caravans and such? Well if they don't catch their target/get obliterated you can always select the "wait one day" option (you don't have to wait a full day) so they come back.

They do act oddly though, I recall a Lord ditching me and showing up a few days later, just in time!

No, like they're sitting at the castle with me but never actually do anything other then keep enemy lords at bay.

You need to be in a good relationship with an allied lord for him to join a siege with you, 5+ or something in relation.

Are we also assuming that your faction is officially at war with the opposing faction? If you're trying to start a war, they wont fight for you.

No is your faction at war with them (did the King declare war)? You can be fighting them and have negative faction up the wazoo but if your faction didn't declare war they'll never fight for you.

I'm having this same problem. Rhodoks (of whom I am a part of) are at war with the Swadians and I've already taken all but Uxkhal and it'd be nice to have the 3 lords that are following me help in the siege, but all they do is stand around. I have very good relations with all of them, too.

Im gonna try that out. Having 3-4 lords with me at a castle but none of them will help me with the siege.

Hope it works, its getting quite annoying not to get any help and you being the marshal

Old thread i know! But having the exact same problem.

I've had sort of the same problem.. I'm a Marshall too and most of the Lords in the faction are even listed as Friends of mine (Apart from one of them who don't like me at all.. could be that I duelled him and won.. it was for a quest), and mostly some lords I have with me join the fight, but ever so often a Lord or two don't join.

BUT, you don't have to start the battle you know. When you "Enter" the city or castle you will see the text "Lord X joined battle on your side", so if no one joined just click leave and hold space (makes your party wait) for a while. Maybe the Lord was just about to chase after some other guys.

But mostly I get enough men with me in battle.. Just make absolutely sure they sort of like you and are not about to chase some other enemy.

EDIT: Also, sometimes, for no reason (especially when you just hang around for a long while, like when you construct a siegetower) the Lord will abandon his task to follow you. He might still hang around but his text will say "Waiting" instead of "Accompanying X". Make sure they are still on the task you gave them.
