Make aging an option.

I read, a devblog or post from way back when you age every 82 days and they are still looking to make adjustments. If you could tell, when I made my comment I was only 62 days in and aged up from 30 to 32 guessing there is a time jump somewhere in the main story. However since then I have not aged at all. My only issue with the aging now is starting at 30. That is just way to old for medieval times, and if there is a time jump to 32. The average person that lived in those times lived to 31.3 .... see my issue. Aging a year every 90 days is pretty decent though. And about having a heir. When I die in real life do I come back as my son? That doesn't fit my playstyle, I love to spend time with my games and characters to get to know and develop them. I plan on spending 1000s of hours with my character and just don't want them to get old too quickly and die.

Same here, I want to spend time with my character. I like mods that take a long time to build up an army and get a kingdom; I don't want to be feel like I am under a time constraint.

Oh well, can't please everyone I guess. In my opinion the whole clan/family/children aspect of the game is much more important. I like the idea of continuing as my heir if I die and continuing the family line, etc.
And I love the heir feature and family line etc also, I just also want to be my character for a long while. Or as long as I want.

YOU BLOODY RIGHT YOU DON'T. I detest that unasked for feature, and many other too. As stated before it was not in warband and aging was not in any of its expansions, its addition is counter to what I enjoyed in warband in the first place. It's a game about MY CHARACTER, not my The Sims household's adventure in Simedieveal Land.
Also if you think that a few hundred hours for a character to grow old is not a big deal, what's the big deal of making it optional?

They never said that your character would die of old age anyway? I don't know what exactly happens when you get old, do you look different? Do you actually just die? Do you know the answer to this? Right now I see a lot of speculation and outrage, but you don't even know whether what you fear is a reality? Maybe even when you are 80, you still look the same and things go on?

By the way, I do agree with them letting you choose your starting age, and maybe they will allow it in the release. I would like to be younger too

At what age do you even die of old age? And I am pretty sure you would continue as your heir, no? So what is the issue? I think this is great if so
It's exactly the same as removing the whole character creation system. We're basically forced to play a randomly generated character. Not at the start of the game but once we've invested enough time in it which is even worse.
Some of us want to slowly build their character, investing dozen or even hundread of hours in a single playthrough and a single character.
I really hope that we'll be able to remove the whole aging system through mods because right now I've litteraly zero motivation to play a game that I've awaited for years.

I am not saying I don't see your point of view, I just don't agree with it. I voted for the option though, the more options the better.

im at day 200+ and got 1 kid and my wife been pregnant for like 15 days and i think im 33 so i dont think the aging is to fast, i do however fail to understand how it would work if i had enable companion and general death, since it takes ages to get a kid and for the kid to grow up. imagine just geting married then take a javelin to the face and die, without an heir... Is it then game over?

So I started at the age of 30, and every 30 days in game is a year. I have played 60 ingame days and I am now 32. I get that children need to grow up and with death enabled kids need to grow up faster than they are killed off, Why not make it 90 ingame days are a year, and kids grow up twice as fast to 16. Or 90 in game days children grow up to be teenagers, and every 90 days for adults goes up by one year. I just want to be able to play with my character longer, I guess I don't want my character getting old so quickly. Although when I die I will play as my son or daughter but still.
(Edit) After 160 in game days I am still 32) However I would like to add I do not like how I start off at 32, That is really old in my eyes, to be a adventurer or, anything.
Don't worry the games effectively over before you can turn 35 anyway.

I did find a trainer for the game (someone linked it in the forums) and one of the "cheats" was skill multiplier, inf focus points and trait points. So if you die at like age 72 you could get the trainer, activate the cheat and then turn it of once you reach your dead father/mothers stats.

IMO id rather see them fix the family feud missions and make it possible to gain reputation to negative noteables in villages and other "lords" (got like - rep to several of my lords since they joined me and a few days later i executed their former faction leader and got -100 to like 5 of my own vassals and -50 to tons of notable ppl)

Kinda true, i have my own faction and still working towards the quest where i must own 2/3 of the empires territory and still no news aout my brother! Would have been done with it today but the khane declared war on me forcing me to waste all my rss to subdue them -.-

In very short order one kingdom just ends up owning everything and you really can't do anything to stop it. :/

An option to select like 30/60/90 days = 1 year and maybe a toggle to have children grow twice or thrice as fast until adulthood would be really neat
And when you look at your Faction, you are playing your son... who got to 18 x3 spped... and he has a child when he is 18... so 6 years late the child growing at 3x speed is now 18 and his father 24... MAKE LOTS OF SENSE!!!

Nope... Everything should be longer, years should be longer... EVERYTHING... you are in a rush... go play some hack and slash junk.

If that's the case then they need to limit the AI from conquering the entire map. Cause there is no way in hell the games going to last long enough for a new generation. It barely lasts long enough to buy a couple workshops and join a faction.

The aging is way too fast. 1 in-game should year be 84 days (12 weeks -4 for each season)

I think the solution is to speed up leveling ALOT and have the game play out more like Crusader Kings where you groom your progeny to carry on your mission. Also, it gives players a chance to change up their playstyle and try new things.

I hope that mods can turn the game back to a more personal approach. Clans are an interesting idea, but shouldn't make npc lords just "another part of a clan", and so far it looks like it. The aging thing should be either slowed down a lot or have and option to disable it, if i'll feel like playing CKII, i'll play CKII. If they really want to keep it so far away from what warband was, i hope it can at least be modded.
