Make a war relief time (some sort of peace treaty mechanics)

Knight at Arms
Hello everyone!

So, I've been playing Bannerlord recently as a vassal of a Vlandian Kingdom. The situation on the map is a typical snowballing - Khuzaits are overtaking the whole map and no one can stop them. But that's not the point of my suggestion.

The point is that I've experienced the utmost stupid situation: as any other kingdom, we've been at war with Khuzaits. So, I've besieged one of their numerous castles and... I was told that we are not enemies anymore. "Well, okay", I thought, "finally some time to take care of my fiefs". So, I made my way to the castle of mine and as the sun set... VLANDIA DECLARED A WAR TO KHUZAITS! In less than a day after a peace treaty! And that's not the only example - there were at least 10 times when Kindgoms declared war to each other almost the moment they've signed a peace treaty. Quite stupid, don't ya think?

So, my suggestion is quite simple - I suppose it is reasonable to make a time restriction after a peace treaty, so one Kingdom won't be able to declare war to another after an hour they shook hands on the peace treaty. This may also be one of the reasons (if not the main one) for the so called snowballing - a faction does not have time to recover after one war, when another faction declares war on it, and immediately the previous kingdom declares war on it again! That's the way Sturgia was and Battania were destroyed in my playtrough, and now the situation repeats itself with the Vlandia - it made a peace treaty to Khuzaits, declared war to Aserai and almost immediately declared war to Khuzaits again!

So, please, make this restrticion like it was in Warband. It makes sense for the sake of balance and all that.

I think it should be more like a year at least, with the timeframe the game seems designed for with the Dynasty system. Just overall slow down the pace of wars.

Slow the pace of the wars. Speed everything else up. 10 years for a character should go by a lot faster. Like 2 years per hour in real life or something along those lines.

I agree, since a year is not enough for a faction to recover from all the damage war brings to it. This results in a situation when clans begin to leave a faction very quickly, leaving it with no troops.

Only somewhat related, but I think all factions should start off at peace with at least a year truce at the start of the game so the player has a chance to get their feet under them.

As it is, one example from the test games I've been running is that Southern Empire consistently takes 1-2 cities from Aserai in the first few months of the game then peaces out. Similar things happen generally between Northern Empire and Khuzaits, which can go either way.

That's really not enough time for the player to get the 50 renown to raise their clan rank and become a mercenary to participate at all, even with aggressive grinding, much less a more relaxed playstyle. So it's a lot of territory and power shifting around right at the beginning before the player has any agency to affect the outcome in a meaningful way.

Yes, that's a great idea! The player should be allowed to get an acquaintance with all factions (or at least with some of them) and decide which one he'd like to support before he dives into this power shift tornado.

I agree with those that stated a year peace treaty, speed up time some so ten years go by faster and agree with an initial year or two or five of peace lol. Even better if players had a choice in all of this. Like for sliders:
Quick Game
Long Game
Generational

And have time, treaties, and such go along with that. Something like that anyway. So if you want a fast paced game, you can go with the first one. Giving everyone more choice in options. I see modders probably doing that, but I think Taleworlds should.
