Good idea, and good luck, may the force power of our Emperor be with you. It can be a good signature to someone who wants to ressurect the Calrad Empire.

Wow Quint, somehow I missed this thread.  I'm a dork.  This is looking amazingly awesome!  I am very excited.  So magic is out because we want realism and I agree - but.... riddle me this batman-  A Native/Aztec counter or parallel to FAITH.  I love your Idea about faith being able to empower you in some way. How about the Aztecs have their version.  Aztec priest sacrifice prisoners and their warriors get a skill boost and their enemies moral suffers.  An Aztec Eagle headdress that gives +3 to Athletics.  Aztec Obsidian daggers that are extremely fast and do extra bleed damage.  The staff of "Huitzilopochtli" that when wielded in battle inspires the Aztec warriors to great feats of bravery.  The Aztecs would see Faith effects  as magic, the Calradians/Europeans would see native religious effects as magic.  The power of a Myth/Belief system is realistic.

What say you grand Pooh-Bah of creation?

Thank you so much! That's definitely something which will make it into the game.
I am not sure about the other suggestions. Let me first add hundreds of items, then do the religon stuff and after all the Acztaocs again.

Thank you by the way and keep those well-thought suggestions coming.

I don't know if this was already suggested but is it possible to "steal" ancient remains ? like lets say documents from other empires ? and claim it for your faction  ? as if your faction has more rights to reclaim the empire ? but of course if detected it may cause a prestige or even a renown loss ?

Wait. You don't understand it. The Calrad Empire contained all of Vaegirs, Rhodoks and Swadia. These factions will  have ancient ruins on the map. These ruins have in no way any connection with a faction.

Just explore them, find things and recreate the Calrad Empire by yourself.

Best of luck to you
Thanks!

What about some kind of forgery a la "Donation of Constantine"?
Mwaah. There won't be any conflict between an 'Emperor' or Pope.

You know, I was reading ThaneWulfgharn's post and I think some of the suggestions are good, but maybe a little too much for now, though I do think that if you're attempting to create a realistic colonial experience, slaves and slavery should be integrated at least in some way, considering they were such a big part of it. Any thoughts on that?

1. I think if you've taken an island and built a port and plantation.  Then you can buy or take slaves and really get that island producing mula, denirs, francs serious bucks.  A great economic resource for the  corrupt Calradians evil empires.  But I will rebel against you and free my people and lead them back to the fiery arms of the sun god.
2. Pirates  Need I say more.  perhaps buccaneers, salty sea dogs, swashbuckling fiends of the western islands.  Roving bandit parties of pirates. but perhaps some pirate lords/Captains as well who could be very tough and dangerous.
3. A pirate port where you can recruit pirates.  RP-ing a roguish pirate would be a blast.  "The dry Tortugas".
I getting really excited!!!!

Nice ideas! Keep them coming.

Update: Religion
* 5 different religions: Christianity, Judaism, Islamd, Norse Paganism, Tengriism
* Choose at start which religion you want (Atheism included)
* Religion provides skill bonusses
* Strength of faith makes the bonusses better
* Visit a church, mosque, synagogue, shrine or temple
* You can convert to a religion, pray and pay donations to priests
* AI kings, lords, princesses and pretenders have religion too (currently only aesthetically purpose)
* Holy Artefacts increase skills (Bible, Cross, Koran, Rings)

Spelling mistakes removed.

This is starting to sound like The Guild: Europe 1400.
Which is good.

Also, Atheism should be very rare in this era... maybe an Atheist player can be Atheism's 'prophet' and make it more influentual...

Just one thing in the religous stuff can you please change it to Quran not Koran because i find it annoying when its spelled like that also a feature that i cant seem to find in any mod but would it be possible to upgrade village sizes and stuff because it would be cool to turn a village into a town but if its too impossible then dont do it still loved europe 1805 (hated the parkour on the mission in constantinople) but i cant wait to see how this one works

AI lords aren't Atheist. I included the option for the player only. Perhaps there are guys who don't want to be of any religion.

Whoops. You're right. It should be Quran. Edited.

It's possible. The main problem with this (visual effects) is that I don't have the time to edit all villages. So the amount of unique scenes will be decreased to one scene per culture.

hated the parkour on the mission in constantinople
Yeah. That quest was really hard. Perhaps too hard.

All unique scenes would take way too much, and the mod would stall for a long time. 1-2 per culture, just a bit changed position of buildings etc., you don't need so much variety in my opinion.

One scene per culture would be fine. Perhaps on the Atheism subject you could have a minor faction (bandits maybe, science could be confused with sorcery/witchcraft in the eyes of religions) that goes around promoting science and persecuting other religious folk.
Mod progress looks great so far!

'Koran' better reflects both the English and Arabic pronunciations. 'Quran' is a relic of the past, alongside spellings like 'Moslem' and 'Peking'.
