M&B works, shame about the other games!

Installed on laptop (was crashing desktop but fixed that since with dx9 download). It worked and run fine but after exiting, other games wouldnt.
HOMM3, Stronghold Crusader. The later popped up a message about debugger mode first attempt but both just hung.

Uninstalled M&B. Still no go. reboot. Those games work again. Something odd going on here. 0.632 version, Windows XP.
