Will a Napoleonic Wars DLC from GamersGate be compatible with my Mount & Blade: Warband version on Steam?

If you have a steam copy of warband, and preordered off of gamersgate, do the following.
1. Go to Warband on steam, grab your Warband CD Key.
2. Go to Taleworlds.com, enter the Warband Key.
3. DL the full game non-steam version.
You can then use your gamersgate version. I think.

Surprised about the lack of posts from devs advising people of this...
as I said in another thread, surely you can just download the warband installer from taleworlds and use your CD Key from steam in it? I've got a steam & non-steam version of warband installed, wouldn't the GamersGate version work with the one not installed in the steam directory?

Thanks for the suggestion Deofuta and KidKoala. I will give that a try and report back.
One question though: am I right in assuming that I will not be able to unlock Steam achievements on my Napoleonic Wars DLC or the Warband version which is not on Steam? It'd be nice to be able to keep achievements together, though I can understand why it wouldn't work - I just wanted to check.

In inflexible install shield that doesn't allow you to specify an install path is the problem, not users with no "common sense."

I bought M&B Warband through Taleworlds, and I b=just bought NW through Taleworlds. But it says I have wrong serial key or something..
I believe serial keys aren't activated yet; you will have to wait a bit longer it seems.

Wait a second...if they're not active, then I shouldn't see any Nap Wars games running, and certainly no players in them, and yet I do. Hmm...
Maybe some keys are activated and some are not? Like TW keys are active but Steam ones are not? I am just guessing by the way.
