Damn, and here i thought horsemen being disconnected was a permanent feature, ah how many horsemen id did crash  :razz:
 
I miss being able to block.....
I seems wrong to nerf players just because they bought a good internet connection. (having ping ~ 30 ).

Oh well. The other changes are very good, and the game in general: Dont get me started!
Have been playing since the very first m&b beta (way before warband), and just love the game. Good work taleworlds.

Oh and did parry also get removed ?? (tab right mouse button, to block + stun )

I've discussed the blocking changes with my clansmen on TS, and most of us have a very, very low ping ( under 15 on our own server ), and our conclusion is that it is only slightly noticeable.

Do you mean parry or the parry animations ?

It barely nerfed you. All this patch did was bring it to the level of what someone with 50 had with instant. By no means is this an advantage to high pingers.

I only got a brief chance to play two nights ago before and then Comcast dropped my internet access all night yesterday (I'm posting from work now, hope it's up when I get home) but it seemed sluggish and weird to me. However, I admit that may just have been because I was playing against the Sarranids who now have those absurdly fast bamboo spears. I've been meaning to try it some more but I haven't had the chance.
 
OK, after some more play testing I agree on the blocking part not being an issue.

Parry: I know the animations are missing, but I seem to have a hard time noticing the effect of a succesfull parry, (ie. the stun)
maybe my timing is just off. Sometimes the *klang*sound is distinctly different though...i think...

Just was playing 1st person and noticed that the camera still turns with the horse, although it no longer fights with mouse movement like it used to.
 
It's impossible to download the full beta. I get 6kb/s and I'll have to spend an entire day to download it. No way I'm going to do that. Wish there were some other servers to download from since this way I won't be able to play it again. (I had to delete Warband before since some files went AWOL.)
 
I don't know what you did or intented to do but the force field thing is exactly the same as before. I shot a nord holding a shield from close range and level terrain into the toe many times and they always magically end up in the shield. Fix this asap pls! :smile:
 
I mean that I hear the shield block sound after shooting around the foot/ankle area.  I think the fix might have involved simply resizing cavalry shields so that they weren't so big.
 
I've been shot around my shield by an archer directly in front of me lots of times now, even as a Rhodok. I think this is almost bordering on making ranged troops too effective, since they're so accurate over all ranges. Need to play more to test the balance.
 
Curious. I've spend tons of arrows trying to shoot over sarranid shields and they always end up in the shield or go over the target entirely. Did they reduce the size in sideways only or something? Also I'm sure I didn't miss because the new tighter hitboxes, it was very close range and the shield did a blocking sound + the bolts were visible easily.
 
I don't think I've ever been hit in the head while holding a shield up, so I assume you can only hit under the shield. That has happened quite often to me, anyway.
 
if you are at a different angle than the opponent it is much easier to achieve these 'around' the shield shots. Before however you could hit the feet even if the infantry men was coming straight at you on level ground, even though shield force field was reduced, it was not reduced to such a degree where this could happen. Essentially what they did was make the shield less active when the archer is at an angle.
 
Is it possible to use the upgrade download (.700 to .711) for version .701?  :???:

because I don't fancy having to download it all again for the sake of 0.001 haha

what do you mean? that upgrade means that it works with anything from .700+, so yes it would work for .701.

Unless there is something i am misunderstanding?
