Those were your doing? They looked pretty nice.

ya, I still have all the models I did, some where around here... I fell off that map a long time ago. I'm sure some of the stuff I did is still in the yahoo groups... look up jik_meshes, or something... Someone else set it up, I just posted my junk. Can't wait to get my hands on animating in M&B!

LL, that reminds me, now that we have Lurb's importer/exporter, maybe we should start throwing around ideas for the Warhammer mod. I have another IRC friend that agreed to help with mods for M&B as well (Apex, he doesn't post much here, though he has an account).

OK, jik and Keeper are in. noo8, you too?

I'm in for adding game ideas too, I'm guessing your talking missions and quests. kool.

Really off-topic, but its hard to believe that you're the jik that did all those cool meshes. I love the space marines one. I thought that maybe all freedom force players just died, but then I found the yahoo groups.

I would love to see a myth mod... so many memories with that game...

heron guards would require dual wielding... although I guess only one of the swords really needs to be functional.

Any word on if punch/kick attacks will be doable? Trow and myrkridia were both weaponless iirc.

And there was an evil unit that had this wicked double bladed weapon or something... i think maybe myrmidons or something. And don't forget soulless! creepy floating spear throwers.

I already got a sort of dual wielding in, actually. If you set a shield to use a sword mesh, it shows up, although it's positioned strangely. Still looks cool though(and functions as a shield).

I will get to work on making the map if you want? I will post some pics as soon as I can.

Sure. Do you (and also Keeper, jik) know about Myth already? If you don't follow some of my links and look at the video here (http://www.mythvillage.org/articles/movies/m2_teaser.html).

For the map itself, the Province is mostly fertile plains. If you're going to have different textures, it's temperate European climate in the middle becoming mediterranean in the South. North of Madrigal it's colder like northern Europe.

The Deep Mire is a swamp. Ignore the 'Drowned Kingdom'.

The Barrier is a once fertile plain that's been transformed into a burning desert. I think it is a 'plateau', flat but at a higher altitude than the Province. The darker area you see I think represents how far the desert has spread.

I think east of The Barrier the land should be sloping upwards and is mostly barren rock getting very cold and icy towards Avernus.

About how big to make it, the different squares I put on the map were my different guesses at how much of the world to include. I think if possible we should go with the green square which would allow quests to recapture Myrgard (the dwarf home) and go to the Great Devoid (which is where you throw the severed head of Balor at the end of the game).

Great. Are you going to use that in any mods or just release it for anyone to use?

I don't think using both sword to attack is necessary. The second sword as a 'shield' would be fine.

I own Myth 1, 2 and 3. 2 was my favourite by far though. I could try and import the music if you want me to? If not I have Sibelius so I can try and compose some music with a similar feeling.

So to sum this up:

Mitsuhide: working on the map

jik: working on the non-human models

Keeper: working on the textures/skins

me: working on the cities, game menu and scene details

I think the first objective should be to get a map functioning and all the new locations placed. Then we can work on the new units and later add quests and the strategic war system which I'll borrow from Ancientwanker.

Maybe, if anyone wants it. I was thinking about moving the sword some so it doesn't overlap the char's arm though.

I already got all the music from Myth 2 converted into mp3 files. There's not all that much of it, six pieces about thirty to forty seconds long. If you can find better music or get someone to make it that would be great.

Just from making a really basic outline of the map in the editor it would be hard to fit anything more than the red box you put on the map... It is possible to make it smaller but it would only take a few seconds to get between locations then. I will try some other things though, like rotating the layout.

Actually, its pretty close to the blue box you drew, the eastern border nearly covers the eastern coast of The Deep, and just fits Strand in.

Do you know if it's possible to change the 'playable box' size? If that is possible then we're fine.

Using the blue square would mean leaving out the dwarf homeland and the Great Devoid. For the time issue I was going to work on solving that by modifying troop speeds.

To do that we need to know how long it should take to get from one end of the map to the other and how long it takes on an unmodified map. I would say 4 or 5 days from North West to South West going in a straight line. That would mean an average party speed of about 2.

Is that too slow?

In my opinion 2.5 days (60 hours) is the lowest it should go. That would give an average speed of about 3.
